(??? POV)

I paused over the button controling the sonic wailing that would hypnotise not only the nearby mobs, but two other individuals.

I couldn't do it...but I must. Otherwise...

I pressed the button and the piercing wailing sound started playing. I glanced through the camera installed in Cloudell Burgers. The five of them there were covering their ears.

" It's going all according to plan. Now two of them will succumb to it." I heard the voice in my head say.

The wailing stopped and I looked through the camera again. Simon and Kee were attacking Toby,Clara and Pastel.

I flinched. Seeing this happen at my own hands made me panic. I didn't know what to do.

"Is it done now?"

Yes.

"Good. Then I'm taking control now."

Wha-

Before I knew it, I was forced back into the same black empty space that was my- or rather his- head.

I didn't say anything. Why must this happen to me? Why must it happen to my friends?

I curled up inside my head and cried to myself.

(Third person POV)

The three of them were flying to the base, now used in case if emergency. When they got there, they literally stumbled out of the helicopter.

"What the fuck just happened?!" Pastel exclaimed, still in the helicopter. "I don't know... Must be the wailing that happened earlier. I mean, that's the only reasonable explanation." Clara said, getting out.

"Well, we don't have any other options than to hide out here for the time being. We should secure every entrance and exit in and out of here." Toby said.

After sealing up the secret tunnel that led to their houses, and fortifying their defenses, Clara asked, "Y'know, I've been wondering. Why didn't the wailing affect us?"

"I don't know, maybe it doesn't affect certain individuals?" Toby said. "I just need some time to process this, give me a while." Toby headed to the sleeping quarters.

Pastel and Clara looked at each other. Pastel sighed and said, "Maybe it's something in our blood? Or maybe it was programmed to only not affect us?"

"That would be really complicated to do. Anyways, I don't think it was programmed like that. Probably it's something with us, otherwise it would've affected us too." Clara said.

"Never mind. I'm going to my sleeping quarters, see you later." Pastel said, before walking away.

Clara sat there alone, going through the chests. She pulled out a gun.

No ammo, Clara noted. Probably since no one has been here for a while.

Clara checked every single gun. All empty. Their only weapons were back at their houses.

Well, guess it's time to bring out one of my best creations, Clara thought.

She looked at the gloves she was wearing. However, these were not normal gloves, but mech gloves she had made to pair with her mech pack that she had made less than two weeks ago. However she had left it back at her house, and she didn't really spend time at the base that often, so she didn't have a lot of things here at the base.

Clara opened the sealed secret tunnel, remembering to reseal it behind her, holding a iron sword in one hand and a shield in the other.

(Clara POV)

I eventually made it to our houses. I peered out the tunnel and looked around. I didn't see Kee or Simon, so I think I'm good to go.

I climbed out and instantly felt something at my ankles trying to push me over. I looked down and saw it was a silverfish. But its eyes were purple with spirals. Were the mobs hypnotised too?

I kicked the silverfish away and killed it. Wait, why is there a silverfish here? Don't they usually spawn in strongholds? But those are miles away! I thought.

Something's not right here.

I slowly made my way to my house, and opened the door. No one there at all. I went up to my bedroom and grabbed my mech pack, slinging it on my back like a backpack.

Almost no gas left in it. I'll have to get some from the base when I get back.

Just then, I heard a hissing noise from outside. I looked out the window and saw my house surrounded by hypnotised silverfish.

I went downstairs and opened the door. All the silverfish stared at me before leaping at me.

I blasted at them using my mech gloves and used my shield to defend myself from their attacks. I used my sword for close combat.

After a long time, I managed to kill all the silverfish.Something's controlling them. I've never seen normal silverfish act like that. I should tell the rest when she get back.

I checked my mech pack again and saw that I had roughly enough gas to fly back. I pillared up using some wood and stone and saw the base.

Wait, no, what am I thinking? Me flying over would attract attention. And that's the last thing we want. Pillaring down again, I decided to use the tunnel again.

I entered the tunnel and checked my phone. 3.57 p.m. I had been gone for a while, so I ran most of the way back through the tunnel.
---------------------------------
(??? POV)

I stretched as I made my way out the small house I had built on the outskirts of the place where the rest lived.

Earlier, I had heard some wailing sound coming from it, and I knew my friends were in trouble. I pulled out a stone sword. Not the best weapon, but it was the best I had at the moment.

Brushing down my hair and blinking my pink eyes, I started walking. I had been gone for so long, I didn't know what to expect there.

But I guess I'll have to find out for myself.
