Kerrigans POV:

Ugga: Grug?

Ugga asks in fear.

Grug: just go! Go! Go!

Grug yells the Croods and I run towards the precipice with the Bear Owl closing in. We reach the edge. The Bear Owl dives. We leap. We hang for a moment and begin tumbling down a steep jungle hill. We tumble through a twisty mess of giant roots and strange plants and land in a heap. We all lie on their backs, disoriented, but momentarily calm. Grug sits up first. He turns to the high, high, cliff above them to the top, where we have lived all their lives up to this moment. A few loose pebbles continue to tumble down. There is no sign of the Bearowl. The others stand up, and they take in this new place. Grug takes a deep breath and then quickly counts:

Grug: one, two, three, four, five, six-!

Grug begins to smile Gran lands in a heap behind him.

Grug: seven...

Grug huffs in annoyance

Gran: oh-.. Where are we..?

The old woman asks none of us in particular

Grug: I don't know, I'm not sure. Down. In a lower place. One thing's for sure, we can't go back the way we came... Grug tries to think. We sit up, disoriented. I turn to Sandy to see her sniffing the ground.

Sandy: grrrrrrrrrr....

Ugga: sandy? What is it?

Ugga asks looking nervous sandy lunges at something almost disappearing into a bush. Grug barley catches Sandy by her leg. Grug pulls her back like a dog on a leash.

Grug: no, no! Come back, Sandy!

Grug yells out at her sandy has a mousephant in her mouth. Grug knocks it from Sandy's mouth. A gaggle of mousephants run out from the bush and scurry away.

Grug: we can't be out in the open like this. We need a cave. Now step where I step..!

Grug says in fear so, we start moving.

Grug: okay. Stay quiet... Hopefully nothing big knows we're here yet..!

Grug cautions.

Grug: wait. Okay. Wait. Okay. Wait. Okay.

Grug cautions again making me and Eep look at each other, clearly annoyed. We cautiously move in fits and stops through the middle of this thick, pre-historic rainforest.

Thunk: so Dad, just to be clear, are we looking for the exact same cave?

Thunk stammers.

Thunk: if it was me, I'm just throwing this out there, if it was me choosing the cave, I would go with a smaller cave

Thunk starts to mumble inaudibly as we trek, strange creatures watch us. In the front of the line, Grug is freaked out. But in the back Eep and I are taking in the wonders. We pass through a curtain of hefty hanging pears. After we pass the "pears" all turn to watch us. A leaf flutters down.

Grug: wait

He cautions once again. Eep and Grug look up, Eep then shakes my arm and motions for me to look up where I find we are surrounded by monkeys.

Thunk: dad?

Thunk question.

Grug: I'll take care of this...

Grug growls.

Grug launches into his Threat Display

Grug: WAAAaaaarrgghhaarrraaaarrgghhh!!
