#4 - Set Free

The day was finally done, after the stress of possible expelling. Only to find out that it was all a lie, after that one green-haired boy. That seemed to be named Midoriya, or at least that's what Iida called him while lecturing him on safety. 

Throughout the day you spent time talking to Kaminari, and Sero. You started to meet more of your classmates. Who had also befriended the two boys. Kirishima, the redhead who had stared at who you now know as Bakugo, during the exams. And finally, Mina, a hyper pink girl.

You were walking home with your headphones blasting one of your favorite songs as you mouthed the words. You glanced around quickly to find that no one was around and started to dance a little to your music, getting more and more into the song. Letting yourself just be in the moment you shut your eyes turned up the volume as high as you could and spun and danced to your music as you felt the warm setting sun on your back.

**Tokoyamis POV**

Little to your knowledge a bird boy and his friendly quirk companion watched from a few blocks behind. "A strange one it seems." His companion spoke.

"Not so much as strange... I'd say- intriguing." He slowed his step so as not to catch up and have you spot him.

The shadow hummed beside him, "Is that so?"

"Yes..." He broke his stare at you to look at dark shadow, "I am most curious about how I ended up laughing to save them that day. I don't remember even responding, let alone seeing them, and then I had them in-" He coughed slightly embarrassed.

"In your arms~" Dark shadow teased.

"Yes- that." He looked back towards you, and he locked eyes with you. "Uh oh..."

Dark shadow waved, "Big uh oh for you."

**Back to your lovely horrified self**

You could feel your heart slam into your stomach when you peaked your eyes open for a moment to make sure you wouldn't trip. When you caught a glimpse of someone, you stopped dead in your tracks to stare horrified at Tokoyami. Who stood just barely a block down. How much had he seen? Did he see anything? What should you do- his quirk waved at you.

You felt your cheeks start to burn red as the blood stormed to your face. Your soul left your body when your phone rang, you struggled to pull it out and almost dropped it on the cement, just barely catching it. You awkwardly smiled at Tokoyami and chuckled, you brought the phone to your ear.

"Where are you!? Have you been kidnapped!? Who do I need to pay!?" Your grandma's panicked voice shot through the phone, forcing you to pull it from your ear.

"I-I'm fine grandma-" You glanced at the time on your phone, school had ended easily over 45 minutes ago. "I just- lost track of time... that's all."

"Oh thank god..." She pulled the phone from her head and you could hear her shout out, "THEIR FINE HUN! PROBABLY GUSHING OVER SOME BOY TOY!"

"EXCUSE ME!?" That came out a little louder than needed. The boy seemed startled by the outburst, he looked unsure of what to do in this situation. Without his feet taking a step he started moving closer. How the- then you saw his shadow behind pushing him forwards, and his panicked attempts to stop it.

On the other side, your grandma laughed and you were back focused on your conversation with her. "What? Your pretty- I'm sure the boys are all over you~ anyways! Get home soon! You had us worried sick!"

Tokoyami's panicked attempts to stop his quirk got closer to you. You glanced back up to see where he was to be met with a beak hitting you in the face, which was followed by dark shadow giving the last shove of Tokoyami- straight into you. You dropped your phone as you hit the pavement, your head only hit something much softer though. The boy had made sure to place his hand behind your head in a panic to protect your head. Damn good instincts and reactions you guessed.

More yelling was heard from your phone, you didn't catch much as Tokoyami shared a very surprised gaze with you. You both panicked when dark shadow was sent into a high-pitched squeal. "Oooooooo! You guys look so cute!"

You both separated quickly, your face burning and his feathers poofed in embarrassment. Neither of you made eye contact as Tokoyami quickly handed you the very angry phone, "I apologize for Dark Shadows out brust-" and he sped off in a quick walk down the path with a cooing dark shadow.

Your thoughts ran wild, what had just happened? You lifted the phone to your ear again, "WHAT'S HAPPENING! I HEARD SOMEONE SAY YOU TWO LOOK CUTE! WHO!? WHAT'S HAPPENING!"

You stared at the back of the boy's head, your face covered with a soft blush, "I'll uh- be home soon..." You hung up and cut off your grandmother's manic rantings.

To be honest, you weren't exactly sure what had happened. But what you did know- is now that made two embarrassing and seemingly random moments you've shared with this bird boy.
How intriguing.

**Tokoyamis POV**

Tokoyami spent the remainder of his way home lecturing dark shadow on how unproper that just was.

"You said they were 'intriguing'! So I got you a closer look~" Dark shadow teased, she fully believed that she had done the correct thing.

"No! That- Ugh! I just because I said that does not mean I want you to push me into them! That was-" He felt his feathers poof up once again and his face beneath warm, he stopped walking.

"Was~" Dark shadow grinned at Tokoyami's reaction.

He snapped his gaze back up to Dark Shadows and point in her face, "Never- and I mean- Never do that again."

Dark Shadows face fell and they both argued the rest the way home.
