You could hear shouting on the other side of the door, along with things being dropped or knocked over.

"What's happening in there?" You jumped when someone spoke beside you, and you looked over to see Tokoyamis father stepping out of the shadow on the wall. "Sorry, did I scare you?"

"No, no, I'm good! Uh, mother, son argument?"

"Ah, that seems to happen a lot." He chuckled, "What about this time?"

"Oh- its-"

Yelling interrupted you through the door.

"Mother, no!" Loud shuffling, "Dark Shadowhow dare you betray me!"

"Fumikage! You will have color in your outfit for once in your life!"

"NOOOOOOOOO"

Both you and Tokoyamis father started laughing and giggling. Then there was a loud thud, and you both stared at the door, "Do we. Go in?" He questioned.

"I don't know..."

"Are you two ok in there?!"

There was shuffling, "We are all good! Don't worry! There's no need to come in!" Chiyo called out, and followed by angry muffled Yelling. She voice got lower, "Stop wiggling and accept your fate child!"

Tokoyamis father looked at you then the door, "OK, I'm thinking we need to look." He carefully opened the door.

There they were on the floor, Chiyo had Tokoyami face first on the floor with her hand around his beak. The room was demolished, and somewhere along the way, Tokoyami ended up in a different shirt. He looked up at you and barely managed, "Help me!"

You stared at him before starting to smile, "Chiyo. Let go of Tokoyami."

You could feel the anger in his stare. You stood trying not to burst out laughing from the payback you had just served.

"He has to get properly dressed first!" She looked down at him, "Do you understand me?" He nodded, "Good! Now dear," She looked back to you as she carefully let go of Tokoyami and he rubbed his beak, "I'm going to get this boy in a nice outfit! Why don't you head down to your home, you live near, don't you?"

"Ah, yes. I've been living with my grandparents a few houses down, actually."

"Oh, wonderful! I'll send this one down to check on you and head to the school with you a little while!" She smiled at you, "And he can help get you all loaded up to move into the new dorms, right, Fumikage?" Chiyo didn't even look at Tokoyami, but everyone could feel the menacing intent behind her words.

"Yes, mother."

You left with a small wave to Tokoyami, who looked defeated. You giggled to yourself about the whole situation, and then you were at the door...

Right... this was going to be awkward. Your breath got shaky as your hand hovered over the door handle. Why did this feel so hard? It's not like they'd be mad... right? You did storm out pretty fast... a pit grew in your stomach. What would happen when you opened that door?

During your hesitation, the door opened in front of you, and you were face to face with Grandpa. A smile broke across his face, "Jeez, I thought you might never come back, kiddo." He pulled you in for a hug and spoke quietly, "I'm sorry for all that last night."

You hugged him back, "I'm sorry for storming out like that..."

"No, no, I'm not worried about that. He seemed like a good kid. I would be more worried about"

"Y/NNNNNNNNN" He was cut off by your grandma shuffling quickly to you.

"Her-"

She hugged you tight before stepping back, "Are you hurt!? Did he do anything? I'm so sorry! Did you sleep, alright? I was so worried! Where did you get these clothes?"
