(FYI James is 15)
"James, We're here," said the security guard that made sure my helicopter ride to Xavier's School was safe. I sighed in relief. I thought I was about to hurl if we went another mile. I hopped out with my bags and my mouth dropped as saw the huge mansion of a school.
"I-I'm going to live in there?!" I asked him. The man chuckled a bit and nodded. He took one of my heavy bags easily and started walking towards the giant school/school dorms.
Here we are," the guy informs and sets down my bags at the door of a room. My dorm. My mother sent me away for at least a year so I needed one. "I'll go get your key," he states and goes to the elevator and the doors close. I stay at the door looking around. I run my fingers through my dark brown hair, thinking.
I hear a ding at the elevator but it's not the man. It's teens. Mutant teens. I've never seen anything so weird and strange. There was a girl who was walking on the ceiling like it was no big deal, a boy with huge, astonishing, black wings, and lastly there was another boy, younger than the others, who was floating off the ground. They walked past, down the hall. Okay, this school is crazy.
I hear the elevator ding again and seeing the man. He hands me the key and nods once.
"Your classes start tomorrow they'll be sent to you sometime this afternoon," he said. I nod
"Thank you," I said and he left. I drag my bags inside and look at the amazing view I got. I walk onto the balcony and see teens skateboarding, playing sports, studying. I smile. I think I was going to like it here.
I start to unpack and once I'm almost done, I hear a knock at the door. I walk to the door and open it and find that it's the same girl that was walking on the ceiling. She has light brown, messy hair, different color eyes, one bright green and one light blue. She's beautiful. She had ripped jeans and a red V-neck t-shirt on with black converse high-tops. She had a skateboard and a letter in her hand.
She looked at me then at the letter that had my name on it.
"Um... James?" she asked and looked back up at me. "That's you right?" I nod
and she holds out the letter to me and I take it.
"Thanks... What is it?" I ask rubbing the back of my neck.
"Classes I think. Not sure...," she shrugs. "But if you need anything I'm next
door," she says as she nods her head to the left.
"Cool, thanks," I say and smile a little. She blushes the slightest bit and smiles brightly.
"Bye!" she said as she gripped her skateboard and jumped on to the wall and then to the ceiling with her hair hanging down. She walked to the elevator and waved at me smiling just before the doors closed. I smile and walk back into my room.
I look at the time and see that it's 7:30. I get ready for bed even though it's super early. I stand on my balcony and watch the sun go down. By now it's probably 8:00.
I hop into bed even though it's still early. I want to be prepared for tomorrow. My powers are stronger when I'm well rested. I plug in my headphones and then drift off into sleep.
