Chapter Nine

Cameron and I get in the elevator. We go down to the lobby and walk out the door. There are cop cars parked all along the street... but they're not normal cop cars... They're- Cameron quickly grabs my arms and starts sprinting. But before I even realize to start running, two men have gotten us captured. Cameron squirms.

"LET ME GO!!!!!" She screams. I'm too terrified to even ask what the heck's going on. They hand-cuff my wrist and they do the same with Cam's. They shove us into a cop car with another guy with wings-wait, wings?! It takes me a second to figure out that it's Max.

"Max- Wait. What are you doing here?!" I yell quietly. He sighs angrily.

"I came to check on you guys because SOMEONE," he glares at Cam, "Doesn't answer their phone! So I got worried. Dragged my butt over here to check on you two. Next thing you know, governments got control of me," he grumbles looking down. I'm so confused.

"What's going on?!" I yell frustratedly. Cam sighs and looks down.

"The government thinks mutants are evil, scary. They sent us off to this place, MWA. The government thinks they're sending us off to this wonderful place to keep mutants... But no. They find us, capture us, and use us as weapons. They control us now..." She mumbles sadly. I frown and look down.

"How are we going to get out of here then?" I ask. Max snorts.

"We don't. Once they got us, they got us," he groans. I curse to myself. I got to get us out of this.

A cop comes in the car and starts driving us. We stay silent, looking down. We get to the 'Mutant Jail' as Cam calls it. They shove us into a building and then through countless hallways. They throw us through a thick, metal door. The walls are white all around and the room is huge and has... Teenagers in them?! 3 heads in total turn and look at us, one female, two male. The guards shut the door behind us. They don't even take off the handcuffs. I smile the tiniest bit, awkwardly.

"Uh... Hi."
