I wake up bright and early even though it's a weekend. I look at the bags I packed for today. I remember Cam and I are going to visit her dad. I start getting ready. I put on some jeans, a plain T-shirt, and I slip on a black sweatshirt. Cameron should be here any minute. She said her dad lived in a small apartment in New York City. (Xaviers School is in the state New York so it's not far.) We were going to take a subway then walk the rest of the way.
I hear a knock on the door. I slowly get up and open it to see Cameron in some skinny jeans and a dull, red hoodie which she has the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. She takes a sip of the coffee she's holding, then smiles, but not a full happy smile. It's like a dull, 'I'm feeling a little better' smile, but at least it's something.
"Hey," she says. I smile a bit and say hello back. I grab my backpack full of stuff and shut the door behind me.
We finally get to the cold, underground subway station. Cam looks at the map as I wait. I spot our subway train and nudge her. We walk in. I sit and put my backpack across from me and Cam does the same.
She takes out her phone and Max is calling and she ignores it. I take her phone and she doesn't care. I see her lock screen and smile wide as I see a crazy selfie we took as her wallpaper.
"Now, who happens to be this handsome, young man on your lock screen?" I ask jokingly, smirking. She giggles and smiles up at me.
"My best friend," Cam answers and I can't help smiling wider.
"Well then, I bet he's funny. And he also seems quite charming," I add and she laughs.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever," she says smiling and rolling her eyes. I smirk flirtatiously.
"So you do think I'm charming?" I see her trying not to smile and her faint blush as she looks out the window. "You do think I'm charming! Ha I knew it!" Cam blushes like mad laughing.
"In your dreams!" She giggles and I smirk. I can totally tell she likes me. A grin spreads across my face as she blushes harder and looks away, biting her lip, smiling. "Shut up..." She mumbles. I chuckle a bit and smile softly. I take a risk and place a soft, gentle kiss on her cheek. She blushes hard and her eyes widen. I smile and pull out a book from my backpack casually like nothing ever happened. Cam smiles and puts her hood on, still blushing, as she leans on me and closes her eyes, trying to fall asleep. I smile softly at her and start to read my book, preparing myself to meet her father.
