Jumping, turning around on every rock down the lake, humming. Tightening the straps of your backpack, you started running, your hair lighter than a leaf in a gust of wind. One step after another, you noticed a cloud of dust coming your way faster and faster. Was it the holes of your Hyottoko mask getting dirty? Oh. It was Hotaru dashing faster than thunder. So fast that one couldn't get a glimpse of his haori. You breathed in and braced yourself. Blinded by his burst of rage, you went unnoticed and so you caught the beast. Grabbed by the collar, the poor fella looked lost. "Huh? Huh?" He glanced around. Who had dared stop his murderous run?

"Hoooooootaaaaaaaaaaru! Bullying children again?"

He stopped and so slowly turned toward you. He was about to bite but didn't? "What....what are you doing here anyway, huh!?"

You raised a package. "Delivering Kocho-sama's new sword. A very special request."

"You should have told me we were heading at the same place. I would have waited for you. The mountains are dangerous these days."

Was he showing concern for something out of his work? For a person? You were so aghasted you could have dropped the sword! You didn't show it and kept the discussion going. "I assume you're going to meet with Tanjiro-san?"

Your comrade clenched his fists tight and looked down. Painfully. "He broke...his nichirin blade..." Silence. Tense. Shoulders, feet, head, fists, hell you could have bet his toes were shaking with anger as well. "AGAIN."

"Let's make a deal, yes?" you started as you grabbed his arm, pulling him towards you, the chimes, singing. "Huh?"

"If you don't threaten young Kamado with a knife or hit him, I will make you my homemade mitarashi mango!"

"...Ok."

You clapped and smiled. "Good. Now." You ran. "Let's go, we're late!"

This one was quite short though I really enjoyed writing it. The cartoony side of his character is always a challenge to put in words. He is quite unique after all, isn't he? All to say is I hope you all liked it.
