15 | internal conflict
All of this felt new to Jungkook and it's because it was—well, not technically. He's dated a lot in the past but that's because it's very easy to get a girl when he's a street racer. It's like they all flock to them but with Aerin he had to approach her first. That's when he knew she was going to be different—and not the sort of different that's like 'she's not like other girls' because she was, she liked makeup, hair, fashion, etc. She was different to him because he genuinely felt excited to talk to her. She was interesting and as he got closer to her that feeling of excitement never faded.
Of course he also realizes that despite not having a label to the relationship the two had, it was obvious that they were both into each other. Why else would they have been so worked up during their conversation last night? He's not used to putting this much effort into someone.
"Someone's in a good mood today," Yoongi said while Jungkook was adding some star decals to a 1998 Ferrari. He had music playing in his ears so he didn't notice his friend until he was in front of him. He pulled out his AirPods, "Huh?"
"You look like you're in a good mood," Yoongi repeated himself, "This whole week you've been a dick but today you're even humming to yourself."
Jungkook just shrugged. Yuna looked at him with curious eyes as she joined the other two, "Don't tell me you started talking to what's-her-face again."
"Aerin," Jungkook corrected her, "Um... Yeah we met up last night and talked it out."
"Talked what out exactly? How rich she is?" Yoongi asked only because he knew it would probably annoy Jungkook. It's more so that he knows that Jungkook is still confused by it. It's not that it matters to any of them but he's known Jungkook for a long time. Yoongi knows the sort of financial struggles Jungkook had growing up and then there's Aerin who probably doesn't a thing about struggle or hard work. Jungkook is the hardest working kid Yoongi knows and yet he's gotten mixed up with someone totally different. At some point that'll become an issue too even if it isn't right now. All he knows is whatever might have happened because this Jisoo guy.
Jungkook looked throughly unimpressed by his friend and chose to ignore the last thing he said, "Cleared stuff up basically."
Yoongi looked around to make sure Yuna had gotten bored of the conversation and left before he pulled Jungkook to the side, "Let's take a smoke break."
Jungkook didn't question it as he left outside with him.
"So..."
"So," Jungkook said back simply.
"I haven't seen you show this much interest in someone since you were like 16," Yoongi told him honestly—back when they were just neighborhood friends and Jungkook looked up to the guy. Jungkook shrugged, "I don't know."
