23 | where this ends?

Lee Aerin has had her picture taken all her life for various reasons: family portraits, school yearbooks, beauty pageants, magazine articles, and pretty much every opportunity given but this is the first time she's ever had a mugshot taken of her. It doesn't make much sense yet but maybe she just hasn't fully processed things.

This wasn't her lifestyle. She didn't run away from cops and end up in jail. She took luxury vacations to Morocco, spent nights on yachts, attended fashion weeks. She was a rich girl living in a world ruled by money and glamor... so to be in a cold cinderblock box with people aren't like her and making her do things didn't feel right. On top of that she's been separated from Jungkook and as much as she wants nothing to do with him, she also knows that right now he's the only sense of security she has.

The two were only brought back together when they were thrown into an overnight cell and allowed one phone call each. Jungkook wasted his call on his friend who didn't pick up and when he ran out of ideas he couldn't bring himself to find anyone. He really didn't want to go to the Kim brothers for help again.

They've only been booked for street racing and running from the cops but there was no way they would be leaving tonight unless someone really pulls the string for it, Jungkook knows the system very well. They'll find some other dirt to put on them and make the situation worse so his only chance was for Aerin to call the right person.

"Rin?" Hoseok answered quickly, "What the hell happened? I looked for you everywhere, I called, I—shit I ran too and now I'm getting a call from the police station? What is going on?"

"I don't know," Aerin said and for the first time that night she allowed herself to cry. Hoseok has always been the big brother in the group. He was always the one telling Aerin to be careful, always looking out for everyone, always there and she should've just listened to him when he told her getting involved with Jungkook wasn't good. She just can't help the fact that she still cares deeply for him and in the back of her mind she knew something here was off.

Why did they go through so much trouble to find Jungkook and Aerin specifically?

"But I need your help," Aerin whispered as she looked back to the cell where Jungkook sat hunched over with his head in his hands and leg bouncing anxiously, "We need to get out of here, it doesn't feel right."

"Of course it doesn't you've never even had a speeding ticket before! Who's there with you? Jungkook?" Hoseok asked as he paced back and forth in his bedroom.

"Yes and I need you to bail me out—both of us, please? I can't call my parents they'll freak out," Aerin said even if she knew deep down her parents weren't completely oblivious. How strange is it that once her mother finds out the kind of guy Jungkook is, suddenly there's a raid?
