"It was all I lie." I sob to Abby.
"That bastard." She says patting my back. I try to control my breathing, but my emotions are still all over the place. "Why are you still friends with that bitch anyway?" She asks.
"Alison has been there since day one..." I say.
My door starts to open and my mom comes in singing her favorite song. She doesn't notice the soap opera on her couch, when she does, she becomes wiped with concern.
"Brooke? What's wrong?" She asks coming over to me.
"Guy trouble." Abby said.
"Baby.." My mom says, she comes over to me and cuddles me. I'll admit, I'm a mamas girl and I love when my mom baby's me. I feel protected in a way.
"Hey, cheer up." She smiles wiping a tear. "C'mon let's jam out!"
Mom turns on the computer, and plays her favorite song, "All Summer Long".
She starts dancing like an old lady would, fake singing, being herself. I love seeing my mom like this, it puts me in a better mood as well."Let's go Abby!" She says grabbing Abby and making her dance with her.
My tears dry up and my frown slowly disappears as I watch them be complete idiots.
"Sippin' whiskey out the bottle, not thinkin' bout tomorrow. Singing sweet home Alabama all summer long." My mom sings out. She then plays the air guitar as the guitar begins its solo.
"Now." Abby says when the song is over. "You feel okay?"
"Yeah. Shaken up, but good now." I smile.
"Great!" My mom claps her hands. "Because now it's time for the boot scootin' boogie!" She says as she plays another song.
