"You still haven't told him how you felt?" My friend Lauren asks, on FaceTime."I can't, it'd never be the same." I sigh.
I FaceTime Lauren every night, we even fall asleep together. Aside from Abby, she's a really close friend I don't plan on loosing any time soon.
"He's such a player. It bothers me. He needs to realize what's in front of him."
"His best friend is in front of him." I sigh.
"You know the whole school thinks you two are a thing." She says.
"I wish I could tell them it's true." I put my phone on a table and walk to take my contacts out. "But let's be real, he only wants sex, then he'd leave."
"Maybe you could turn the tables." She raises her eyebrows.
"I doubt it." I laugh.
"Ready for lights out?" Lauren asks laying in her bed.
I put my contacts away and rub my eyes. "Yup"
"Brooke." Harry shakes me.
"W-what?" I say waking up.
"I have something to show you." He smiles.
He pulls out a ring out of his pocket and shows it to me.
I gawk at the beauty in front me."Gorgeous right?" He asks.
"Beautiful."
He smirks and someone walks over to him. She's a bit shorter and her face seems so familiar. He slips the ring on the girls finger and immediately starts kissing her. My face falls and tears spill.
"Abby?"
"The girl wasn't the usual girl?" Lauren asks."No." I say. I always have these dreams. It's usually the same girl every time, a random one. "It was Abby."
"The girl from dance?" She asks.
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"I don't know. He talked to her at a soccer game, he called her hot. I got j-"
"Jealous. I know." She laughs. "Are you going to tell her?"
"I have to."
"Wait wait wait, I kissed harry...?" Abby says staring at me.
"Yes, you took the place of the blonde bimbo that was usually there." I say.
Luke snickers from the sink.
"I'm sorry. I didn't do anything to lead him on." Abby apologizes.
"Not your fault. He's an eighteen year old boy, anything with boobs and a butt turns him on."
"Gee, my self confidence just boosted." She laughs.
"Hey, I'm eighteen." Luke yells.
"You like boys Luke." Abby says.
"They still have butts." He says pointing a finger.
"My sincerest apologies." She laughs with him.
"Brooke, back to work, someone's at the door." Luke points.
I turn around and fake my smile
"How may I help y... Harry?" I drop my notepad.
"Hey babe." He smirks.
"Don't call me that." I say rolling my eyes.
"Actually I was talking to ally." He says.
"Abby." Abby cuts in.
"Shit, sorry." He laughs.
"What do you want?" I say going back to my seat.
"Now that's not how a waitress should talk to her paying customer." He taunts.
"Harry my shift ends in fifteen minutes. What do you want?"
"I can't come see my best friend?"
"Cut it styles."
"Fine. There's another girl."
I roll my eyes and turn around in my seat. "Luke, get me a dr. Pepper, take a dollar off my paycheck or something." I turn back around. "Why didn't you just call?" I ask.
Harry stares long and hard at Luke. "Who's the guy?" He says pointing at Luke.
"My co worker Luke." I say getting suspicious. "Why didn't you call?"
"Luke." Luke says coming over and holding his hand out for harry.
"Harry." Harry says shaking his hand slowly. "What's your relation to brooke?"
"I should be asking you that question." Luke says walking away. He walks past me and hands me my soda
Harry shakes his head and sits next to me. "I didn't call because my phones dead. I know your hours and came here."
"How do you know my hours?" I ask, taking a sip
"Not important. Anyway, the girls name is Alexandra. She goes to your school."
"I'll talk to her." I shrug.
"Thanks brookie cookie, you're the best!" He says in a little kid voice, hugging me.
"Yeah yeah, go home harry, you have school tomorrow." I laugh playing with his curls.
"Okay." He says kissing me on the check and leaving.
My face falls and I put my head in my hands.
"What's wrong?" Abby asks.
"If only he knew." I say, watching his car pull out of the parking lot, and driving down the street.
