"Abhi abhi abhi ! I want to go right now !! let's go please Mumma"
Ved kept on tugging at his mother's pallu as she had a hard time giving the dough a good shape for the perfectly round rotis.
"Leave me Ved.I told you na let papa come, we'll be going beta.Till then complete number 15 to 20 from the pages I've ticked mark.If it's not done we aren't going" she said sternly
"This isn't done! We were supposed to go to the fair in the evening!I want to enjoy the rides,buy toys and have cotton candy from the mela"
"Evening isn't gone na bachcha! Chalo solve the exercise fast,by the time you'll be done papa will arrive too "
"Aann Haana" Ved whined
"Okay it's final then,we aren't going "
Vedant stomped his foot but went anyway.
After being done with her rotis,Bhavani decided to go and check upon his son .As she arrived,she was met with the sight with Ved looking towards the main entrance,hands resting on his cheeks,the grammar book open in front of him and the pencil balancing upon his nose.
Bhavani kept one hand on her waist and shook her head in disbelief.
"Aahhhh" Ved got startled with the sudden pain that shot upon his ear when his mother twisted it hard.
"Is this what I've sent you for ? Only a,b and c of 15 is done that too,the last word isn't complete!"
"Aah it's paining! I'll do it seriously now promise promise!"
"That I'm going to make sure" she said while leaving his ear "come with me"
"Mu-"
"No mumma nothing,come with me now if u want to visit the fair"
Vedant went with his mother to the kitchen disinterested as he was very much eager to go outside
"Take your seat on the floor and complete the assigned work,if it's done quickly we are still going" she warned with the spatula in her hand and resumed her work.
The bell rang after sometime and Ved's head immediately turned at the living room behind him ,he started getting up but the sharp voice of her mother prevented his move
"Do not stand up. I'll go and check.You continue what you were doing"
As Samarth entered the house Ved couldn't stop himself
"Papa,chalo na please, we're getting late,mujhe mela Jana hai,mumma isn't letting me up"
"What did I say just a few moments ago ? Beta ,Papa has just arrived let him get fresh and eat something.Get done with your work.Or else you aren't going anywhere"
"Han,Ved,if you're assigned with a work, complete it fast.Listen to Mumma.The faster you're done,the faster we're going.I promise "
Samarth understood that he was being punished,and it must be for a reason,so he assured and encouraged his son while entering into the kitchen and ruffled his hair with a smile.
Within another 10-15 mins he was done getting fresh and had his snacks.
"Let's take him out now"
"That's what I was thinking"
The couple agreed and Samarth went to change his clothes while Bhavani went on to see her son.
"Done with all the exercises?"
"18, number d" Ved answered so innocently that no body could ever disappoint him even if they had planned to by looking at those doe eyes
"Finish number e then pack up your things and get ready"
As soon as those words left his eyes sparkled with the greatest shine and he got up immediately and hugged his mother tightly
"Ohh baapre, I'll fall done baby,slow down"
"I love you mumma"
"I love you too beta but do no.e,then we'll go"
He didn't continue with his work but simply picked his things up from the floor,kissed her cheek and led himself at a very safe distance from his mom
"Baadmeeee"
And he sprinted towards his room to get ready
"Ye ladka bhi na" Bhavani slapped her forehead at her child's behaviour and went to her room in order to get ready
It was hardly 5 mins when Ved was back and was now jumping in the living room after wearing his shoes,being restless
"Mumma ,Papa let's go now, we're getting late"
"I'm toh ready beta,but you know your mumma na ? She is still decking herself up" Samarth soon joined his son's team
"Mumma ,how many minutes more ? Jaldi karo"
"Offo,you both,baap beta dono same, I said na I'm coming"
Bhavani quickened her steps while fixing her earring.
"Ab we'll call you na,we both can't live without you even for a second" Samarth teased
"Samarth kya aap bhi,Ved chalo get going, aren't you getting late now"
The family started for Ved's much awaited visit to the fair,while he swung holding his parents' hands on his way.
