It was 9:15 at night when an extremely sad Bhavani entered the bedroom
"Samarth, please open the door, it's already late at night,he must be very scared . He's now there since more than an hour, atleast let him in now.My bachcha hasn't eaten anything since he came back home."
"Do you think that I enjoy punishing him? No,I do not.You saw right how much naughty he has become,how his level of mischief is increasing day by day.What if something have had happened to him,he could've landed himself in danger too"
"Toh explain it to him politely na. Bas enough of punishing my baby,now either you'll go and open the door or I'll go myself "
Samarth sighed audibly thinking how he cannot stand against the protective mother anymore.He took the keys and proceeded towards the main door.
Vedant was sitting down on the passage with his palms covering the face.First when his pleas to his father didn't melt him,he remained standing.But,as anybody passing by the lane could see him,he had to answer some of his neighbouring uncles and aunties about his current situation.So,he decided upon sitting down facing his back towards the opposite wall in order to save himself of further embarrassment.
The sound of door opening startled Vedant and he stood up watching his father coming outside.
"Papa Papa I'm sorry.Papa please open the door." The chanting of sorries began again
"Will all these happen again?"
"No,no never again. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry" Ved immediately held his father's pointed finger and cried more.
"Enter the house"
As soon as those three magical words left his mouth Ved ran inside,and hugged his mother tightly
"Mummaaa mummaaa mummaaa"
"Bas bachcha bas!See nothing happened, you're okay, you're safe"
"Mummy I don't want to stay outside anymore please"
"Nobody is sending outside beta.Jao wash your face and come back to eat,Mumma will give you yummy meal" Bhavani kissed his forehead and sent her son.
Dinner could only happen peacefully when Bhavani ji fed her little Ved with her own hands while Samarth adored the mother son duo silently while having his food.
Samarth called over Ved after dinner
"Vedant come here"
When Ved hesitated Bhavani looked at her husband while he blinked his eyes in assurance.
"Come sit here"
"Do you know why I punished you today?"
Ved just shook his head.
"I do not enjoy scolding or punishing you,but what you did was extremely wrong.First of all tell me why did you fight with Harsh?I asked you then as well and I'm asking you now too.Tell me"
"I had hit the ball not knowing Harsh was coming from that side and it hurt him.Then he came to fight with us and was not at all listening when we tried to explain,so at the end when he said he'll beat me,I got angry and pushed him"
"See, you could've simply tried to escape the push by explaining and apologize again or tell us about the matter.He just said and you actually pushed him?That's very wrong.
And now about coming home late,do you know how dangerous it can be for you when you stay outside in dark?Also,that time is your study time,if you keep delaying your timetable all the work that you have after that will get late,haina?
"Yes Papa, I'm sorry"
"So from tomorrow onwards if the mistakes repeat, I'll not be so lenient as today,clear?"
"Crystal clear and also you weren't lenient today" Ved just gave him his famous toothy smile
"Youuu naughty boyyy"
And that's how the Ved got a piggy back ride to his mumma who joined the father son duo and they proceeded to have a comfortable sleep for the rest of the night.
