As Bhavani finished narrating the afternoon incident Samarth looked at her with widened eyes
"Relax, he's alright now." Looking at his worried figure, she assured, rubbing his arm
"What I am trying to say is,it has been a really tough day , especially for Ved.A lot of things have happened since the morning that has had him go through overwhelming emotions.Samarth our work is to guide him towards the right path.He has realised, isn't it what matters? And on top of that, I've punished him too,to drive the lesson into his mind. I'm sure he won't be doing something like this till a real long time."
Samarth let out an audible sigh as she explained it to him calmly.
"Hmm, I got your point. I'll see to it tomorrow morning"
*No let him see.Let him take the efforts. You just respond in some way or the other.Dekhna, when you melt by his hard work na,the joy on his face would be priceless.I'm sure he will be prepared for his next move by the morning.Aap bhi dekhna ,how my beta melts his khadoos of a father, yun chutki mein"
"Achcha ji ? So much of confidence? Let's see madam"
"Okay then,Dekhte hai"
The husband and wife gave a challenging look to each other and went to sleep after a long day.
The next morning in the Chaturvedi house was filled with regular hustle and bustle. But,at the same time it saw Ved in a completely new form.
He woke up early ! An asambhav in itself!
Vedant was trying to initiate conversation every now and then, starting with 'good morning' to voicing out every single action of him being a good boy.Bhavani kept a full glass of milk in front of Ved and went in to bring the other things for breakfast. She picked up the plates & other necessary items and called out her husband to come over to the dining table when she saw him still engrossed in the newspaper.
"Vedant, pura milk fin-""Finish karna hai? Kar diya !" Ved completed the sentence for his mum while wiping off the milk moustache from his lips using her pallu.
"Samarthhhh !" Suddenly Bhavani shouted at the top of her voice and both Samarth and Ved jumped at their places
"Omg lady calm down! I'm coming" he said keeping a hand on his heart.
"Arrre wo nahi ! Our Vedant has been exchanged by somebody else""Hein ?" His shocked eyes immediately shifted to their son.Vedant looked at himself and the father son duo unknowingly shared a look and shrugged their shoulders,as if saying "no idea, what she's talking about"
"Are you even alright? Didn't you sleep well last night or did you simply hit your own head somewhere while working in the kitchen" Samarth couldn't help but question his wife.
"Offo ! Aap bhi na ! Leave it.Just see, what miracle has happened! This boy has drunk a whole glass of milk without my shouting or your scolding, that too within just less than 5 minutes.Do you think by any angle this can be our dear son Vedant ?No ways! Wo Aisa kar hi nahi sakta.I trust my child fully" Bhavani said with utter finality in her voice
And with this,it was the second time his shocked gaze turned towards Ved and then travelled down the empty glass kept in front of him, where he blinked his eyes twice;and then again back to Vedant.
The kid in front of him gave him a cheeky smile
"Yes see Papa, I've finished it, I'm such a good boy"Samarth shook his head to come out of his daze and murmured a small 'good' with a polite smile.
The little bear tried the whole morning to melt his Papa by several means.Although there happened to be quite some remarkable progress but still he wasn't sure if he was fully forgiven.
After studying for a while after breakfast,Ved sat down to draw after seeking permission for the same.He never had to be scolded much for completing his sketches except for a few boring homework according to him; so his parents mostly trusted him with all the drawing equipment alone.
