It was a Sunday evening when all the kids of the locality were playing in the ground.
While they were playing cricket, a particular hit by Vedant got him bowled.
"Huttt ! Today's day is a total waste" ,he muttered not so loudly and literally threw the bat away while going back to rest.Ved was drinking water and saying something under his breath in between,Shivansh, his best friend put a hand on his shoulder .
"Bhai ! What happened? It's just a mere out.In the next game we're surely gonna perform better today." He cheered.
"Ja yaar.I just got out in 3 balls"
"Ye le have this water one more time" he said handing him over the bottle "And tell me what's the matter. Aj itna chidh chidha kyun hai tu?"
"The one who had to eat Khichdi Kadhi on a Sunday afternoon will be chidh chidha only"he said with a pout
"Hein ? Khichdi -Kadhi .What are you talking about?"
Ved let out a long sigh
"Mumma Papa had a fight this morning "~ Flashback ~
"Upma"
"Chole Bhature"
"Upma"
"Chole Bhature"
"I said na . Upma . So it's final "
"Bhavani you're dragging this now.Chole Bhature . That's it.No more arguments ""Mumma Papa you both decide fast.I'm already hungry" Ved finally said, now tired of moving his neck from one side to another.
"Han beta it's already decided." Bhavani replied
"Yes, we're eating Chole Bhature today""Samarth, don't start this again alright?"
"Aare !! I'm not responsible for this. Why can't you just let me take over your kitchen for a day? Do you have your name labelled anywhere that "ONLY BHAVANI CHATURVEDI CAN RULE THE KITCHEN" Samarth argued gesturing the last sentence with his hands.
"When did I even stop you to cook ?You can cook happily and till your heart's content. But you're going to cook your favourite Upma and not Chole Bhature today.Full and Final"
"Oh ho ho madam ! If I'm the chef, it's only me who will decide what is going to be prepared. And that is your favourite Chole Bhature.Don't act oversmart okay ?You aren't some dictator.Hitler kahinki."
"I'm oversmart, I'm acting like a dictator, like Hitler, that's what you said right ? So I ain't going to step in the kitchen from now on for your convenience.Aapki kitchen aap hi ko mubarak"
Saying so she kept the bowl on the slab with a thud and went inside."Oh god this lady na !Huh " Samarth also exited the kitchen and sat down on the sofa in the living room.
After 15 minutes passed and no body came back to the kitchen,Vedant took reached his father.
"Papa, hungry" he rubbed his little tummy.Samarth realised that in between both of them, Vedant was the one kept starving. He lightly tapped his cheek and got up.
"Give me 5 minutes beta, I'll be back with something"Samarth was soon back with a plate, butter toast and omlette in it.
"Aj have this okay, please?"
He said trying to make Ved eat the food and fed him some bite. After making sure that Ved started eating by himself,he went to serve two more plates. He took one of them and went inside his room .
As soon as Bhavani saw her husband, she turned towards the other side
Samarth took a deep breath and kept the plate on the side table.
"You are angry on me right? I've no problem. But vent your emotions on the food.If you don't eat properly from where will you get the energy fight with me ? So eat ""I came back from the kitchen right ? Idhar bhi you can't make peace with me ? Ki agaye ladne !I don't want to eat anything.Just leave me alone. " She retorted back furiously.
Samarth folded his hands dramatically in front of his wife.
"Maate !I ain't saying anything. Please have your breakfast."
"Nahi khana" she too folded her arms crossword.
Samarth shook his head and left the room with a smirk knowing her very well.In the afternoon, Samarth was contemplating whether to go and make the meal by himself, when Bhavani stepped out of the room to directly halt in the kitchen with her loud footsteps.
