Chapter 9: Sunflowers and a Vampire

Joe POV

I sat up with a gasp.

Yukari: Big Brother you're okay!

She hugged me and started crying into my chest. Kurumu and Mizore both jumped onto my arms and refused to let go as if I would disappear the second they did

Joe: Of course I am why wouldn't I be?

Then I remembered what happened.

Joe: Oh right.....my head came off. Sorry you had to see that.

Kurumu: Why are you acting like it's not a big deal!?

Joe: Because it really isn't, it takes more than a simple decapitation to kill me. Anyway, what happened after I.....you know...

Yukari let go before pointing at the other three girls.

Yukari: After we thought that Ruby had killed you, those three went completely ballistic and the sheer energy alone was enough to make Ruby pass out. It took a lot of convincing to keep them from killing her. Moka turned back and Tsukune tried to carry you back, but you were simply too heavy. I know Moka is a vampire so she's naturally strong, but how Kurumu and Mizore managed to carry you is beyond me.

I looked at the two girls currently hugging my arms.

Joe: You two carried me?

Mizore simply nodded and Kurumu looked at me.

Kurumu: Of course, you're always looking out and protecting us.....and as your future mate, it is my duty to make sure you're okay.

Mizore: What good is a pack without their alpha?

I wrapped my arms around both of them and took them into a hug. Kurumu just leaned in and enjoyed it, while Mizore let out a surprised squeal.

Joe: Thanks you two.

I looked around and saw Ruby the witch lying down with a towel on her head, but saw no signs of Tsukune.

Joe: Hey where's Tsukune?

Moka: Oh! He went out to get us some iced tea.

As if on cue, the tent flaps opened and Tsukune came in with a plastic bag. He looked at me and his frown turned to a smile.

Tsukune: You okay?

I looked at the girls in my arms before letting out a laugh.

Joe: Definitely. 

He reached a bag before tossing me a can of tea.

Joe: Thanks.

Tsukune: Hey, it's the least I could do.

He handed out the rest of the cans.

Joe: So.....what are we gonna do with the witch?

Mizore: We could kill her......toss her in the ocean, by the time they find the body we'll be long gone.

Joe: How about we don't do that.

You got a better idea?

The voice coming from the rosary startled all of us, and from the sound of it she didn't sound happy about the fact that I don't want to kill the witch.

Joe: We can just bring her back to Yokai with us.

Kurumu: You can't be serious!

Joe: I am.

Mizore: You are way too nice....

Joe: I just don't want to kill her.

Kurumu: You just think she's cute don't you!
