Chapter 1: New life and a Vampire

Joe POV

I was sitting at a bus stop when a small bus stopped. The doors opened and I entered the pretty much empty bus. I took a seat in the back and analyzed the only other person in the bus. He was looking like a regular highschool kid with brown hair and wore the same green uniform that I am. Though one thing about him surprised me....he smelled human. I thought humans weren't able to go to Yokai. The bus driver then spoke up.

Driver: You kids heading to Yokai?

Dude: Yeah.

Joe: Yup.

Driver: You better prepare yourselves then....that's one scary ass school you're going to.

Dude: What do you mean?

Oh brother....I was checking my phone when we entered a tunnel.

Dude: Hello? Kyoko?

I looked at the dude and saw him looking at his phone. Probably lost reception. Normal phones weren't meant to be in the magical world after all. I then got a message from my mom.

Mom: Hey honey, just wanted to check if you ate.

Joe: We ate breakfast together this morning

Mom: No honey, I meant if you 'ate'

Joe: Yeah, two weeks ago.

Mom: Okay then. Your father let the school know about your special diet. You'll have access to one corpse per month.

Joe: Tell him I said thanks then. I'd hate to have to go out and hunt.

Mom: Honey....please don't talk about humans like that...You know it makes me uncomfortable.

Joe: Sorry mom.

Mom: It's fine dear, anyway I have to go now. Stupid council meeting. Anyway, have a nice first day honey.

Joe: Thanks mom.

I put my phone back in my pocket and looked at the envelope the school gave new students. There was a sheet labeled 'Rules' classic school rules. No fighting, No running in hallways. No revealing your true self in any way, shape or form, yada yada...nothing interesting. We exited the tunnel and soon after, the bus stopped.
The dude and I got off and in the distance I saw the school.

Dude: Wow....it's like a completely different world here.

If only you knew.

Driver: I'd watch your back if I were you.

With those final words of wisdom he closed the door and drove right back through the tunnel.

Dude: How strange. I should call Kyoko back.

He dialed a number, but put his phone down pretty quickly.

Dude: That's odd I had a signal just before we entered the tunnel.

He then turned to me.
