The grand window in Hikaru's room was fogged by his breath. Hikaru had to wipe the surface several times for a clear view of his brother's departure. Kaoru sure was taking his time leaving, it was obvious. He trudged slowly to the door of the long, shiny, black limo with his suitcase in hand, dragging it carelessly behind him. The chauffeur grabbed his suitcase and gently placed it in the large trunk of the vehicule, along with several other bags full of Kaoru's stuff. As he stared at Kaoru, who was approaching the door, Hikaru leaned so close that his face just barely touched the window. He watched intently as his twin stopped suddenly, with a jerk. Was he going to come back? Come running in to the house and up the stairs? Would he call Hikaru's name at least, one last time after so many times? He found himself hoping, wishing for something. Kaoru's head turned, and Hikaru saw his features glisten in the sunlight. He looked identical to himself, almost exactly, really. Their hair was the same, the same orangey/auburn color, only parted different ways, one of the only differences between them. His face was gentle-looking, a bit vulnerable-looking also at this time. Hikaru saw so many emotions in it. He looked at his brother until he reached his eyes, beautiful and brown, like his own. They were staring straight at him, but not with anger or irritation, like earlier. He stated at him with forgiveness, and sadness. Tears welled up in them, but before Hiakru could see them streaming down his pale cheeks, Kaoru turned and stepped into the limo, shutting the door quietly. The limo started up, and then drove away. Realization hit Hikaru. Kaoru was gone. No twin to share life anymore. Hikaru unconsciously began to panic. He'd never slept in a bed alone before, without Kaoru's warm body cuddled up beside him. He'd never gone to the Host Club alone before, and now he didn't have an act. Without Kaoru, the whole brotherly love thing they used normally to make girls happy wouldn't work. Maybe ever again. Getting up from his seat by the window, Hikaru walked over to his bed and laid down. I don't need Kaoru. A new life. A new start. Just what I need. As he was nodding off, one word came back to him, haunting him until sleep took over. LIES.
