Almost as soon as Hikaru had entered the room, he fled. His mother called after him and he was sure that Kaoru had too, but he just kept going until he reached a large window at the end of a hallway. Outside it was dark and windy. Hikaru didn't know what made him leave. Actually, that was a lie. He knew why he had left. Was regret the right word? Yes, it sounded right to describe his emotions. He was regretting everything. Not apologizing to Kaoru, just watching him go and not Ben saying goodbye, pretending not to care about him, yelling at those girl at the Host club for no reason other than to let his feelings out. He regretted every second of every day after Kaoru got in that stupid car and left him. He didn't blame Kaoru though. He blamed himself and his own dumb pride. Hikaru waited at the widow for about a minute when a small bony hand reached up and touché his right shoulder. E spun around and saw the girl who had been beside Kaoru. He hadn't gotten a chance to really look at her, but he assumed that this girl was the same girl who had called him earlier. She was tiny and short with black hair and the softest touch Hiakru had ever felt. Something about her made you calm and relaxed. Even her voice was soothing. "Are you Hikaru?" In the gentlest voice he would muster, Hiakru replied. "Yes." The girl had a slight smile on her lips. "I could tell. You two look exactly identical." The girl leaned back against the window beside Hikaru and let out a puff of air. "I'm Mia, by the way. I'm Kaoru's..." Mia hesitated. "... Friend." Hikaru almost laughed. She didn't sound sure of that at all. A second of silence, then: "They're gonna set his leg in a couple of minutes. My cousin had to do that once with his arm. He said it hurt a lot." Mia said this slowly and quietly, like she didn't really want to say it. If she's trying to make a point, it's not working very well. Hikaru thought. "The doctor is just waiting for you." Hikaru stopped breathing for a second. "Why?" He managed to ask. "Kaoru requested you to be there specifically. He said I can't squeeze his hand hard enough." Hikaru was confused. That's all he wants me for? To squeeze his hand? Does he still hate me? Mia must've seen Hikaru's face expression, because she quickly added, "I'm just kidding. He wants you there really badly and they aren't gonna wait much longer to set his leg. They don't want it to start healing the wrong way." With that, Mia pushed off from the window and Egan walking back towards Kaoru's room. He got halfway down the hall and turned around. "He missed you, you know. He told me." Mia kept on walking. Hiakru didn't even have to get his brain to tell his legs what to do because they seemed to know on their own. He ran down to the room, pushing past Mia, who had an unmistakable grin on her face, and didn't stop until he was a few feet from the bed. Kaoru's eyes were open now and they were fluttering nervously all over the room. When they saw Hikaru, they stopped moving. A tall male doctor in a white coat sat opposite Kaoru. "Like I said, unfortunately, you had to be fully conscious while I'm doing this. Grab something to hold on to if you wish. Family, feel free to talk to him. Whatever you need to do to keep him awake throughout the process." Kaoru shut his eyes and without looking, grabbed Hiakrus hand as hard as he could. Haiku could feel his muscles tighten under the grip but he didn't complain, he only squeezed back. Mia placed a kiss on Kaoru's cheek and then blushed bright red and put her hands on the side of the bed. The doctor cleared his throat. "Are you ready?" Kaoru let out a loud groan and nodded. "1... 2... 3." Hikaru almost went deaf with the sound of Kaoru's shrieks.

Kaoru didn't black out. He knew because although his eyesight was all dark, he could still feel the warmth of Hiakrus hand and the tingling sensation of where Mia's lips had been. His senses (besides his eyesight) had seemed to actually enhance. Aside from his screaming, he heard his mother sobbing across the room and the cracking noise that was his bones. Luckily for him, the intense pain only lasted for a few seconds, but they were the worst few seconds of his entire lifetime. It reduced to a dull throb and he could finally see. Hikaru had tears running down his face and Mia had her hand buried into Kaoru's neck. Kaoru had fresh tears lingering on his own cheek. Kaoru stared down at his leg, which now looked normal, besides a whole bunch of bruising and scratches. He let out a lot of deep breaths before he could actually speak. "Hey." His twins eyes were wipe open with surprise when he spoke. "Hey." He responded, his voice cracking all over. That's all they said. They really didn't have to say any more. Wasn't there a scientific fact that said that most communication in the world is non-verbal communication? Kaoru sat up and hugged his older brother for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. They didn't let go of eachother for a long time. How Kaoru had missed this. He breathed in Hikaru's scent and forgot about everything, or at least, he tried to. He knew Hikau was trying to do the same. When they let go at last, both of them were crying again and they shared a very awkward moment of complete silence. Next, Kaoru's mother came and hugged him. His father simply smiled and parted him on the head. Way to be awkward, Dad. The only person left was Mia. She had tears in her eyes, but they were happy tears. Kaoru stared at her and realized how beautiful this girl really was, inside and out. Her black hair was swept to the side so he could see her whole face. She sat on the bed, by Kaoru's arms and just stared. Until Kaoru moved. Mia's lips tasted like her fruity lip gloss and chocolate. She was warm and cuddly, and didn't try to pull away. Kaoru was the first to pull away, and Mia was the one to reconnect them. Kaoru heard a laugh from the other side of him and recognized it as Hikaru. Mia sat up straight, separating them once more. Kaoru could still feel her lips on his, and wanted more than anything to kiss her again, but he contained himself. A few days passed of Kaoru in the hospital. Hikaru and Mia visited once a day and sometimes twice a day. He and Hikaru laughed together, and him and Mia enjoyed moments alone to talk and kiss a little. Well, maybe more than a little. When he could finally leave, he met Mia outside of Kaoru's limo. She looked as pretty as ever, in a simple hoodie and leggings. She smiled and opened the door for him. With her help, Kaoru got in (stupid crutches) and she sat right beside him. "Where are we going?" Mia laid her head down on his arm and whispered, "Last stop before you go home." The car stopped in front of Mia's mansion. Mia lead him inside and helped him up the stairs to her room. Her room was neat, as always. "Sit." She ordered. Kaoru sat down on the squishy water bed and watched Mia rummage through a few boxes under her bed. At last, she stood up and handed Kaoru a wooden box about the size of his hand. He just looked at it, unsure what to do. "Open it, stupid." Mia teased. Kaoru opened the top of the box and took a glance inside. Inside the box was a pin that was bright blue and covered in diamonds. "How much did this cost?" Mia shrugged. "My father felt pretty terrible about you falling off our roof, so he bought me something that I could give you." "But... I can't take this. It looks too expensive!!" Mia laughed. "Take it. My father used my mothers leftover money to but it anyways. Also, you have to wear it to school and public so when people ask you where you got it, you can say that your totally attractive and loving girlfriend gave it to you. That way, no girl will try to steal you from me." Kaoru laughed and tucked the box under his arm. "Thank you." Mia responded with a passionate kiss on the lips. "Let's go."
