Living near an alpha wasn't as hard as most thought. You stay out of their way, and they stay out of yours... most of the time. There were some aggressive alphas who provoked everyone regardless of rank.
This alpha, however, was interesting.
Cold, cautious and keeps to himself. A breath of fresh air to be honest.
Dan Heng didn't flip out on her for making noises in her apartment, not that she did often. Nor did he growl and intimidate her, he was welcoming to an extent and usually left her alone. Only when he needed something, she fell or was struggling, he showed up. An alpha's senses were much heightened than a beta, much more a meager omega.
But she was wary of him... having had her last interaction with an alpha go sour.
She could never tell what he was thinking, ever.
...
(y/n) woke up in a hospital. With a banging headache. "Ouch, what happened?" "You were attacked by an alpha." She flinched at the sudden voice. "Dan Heng!?" He looked tired and had a few bruises himself, "wait let me get you something-"
He shook his head.
"Are you okay?"
(Y/n) looked around, she felt her head, a bump on the head, what happened, "I don't remember what happened." The man sighed sitting back in the seat behind him. "Apparently an alpha followed you a few times, but this is the first time he caught you. Do you recognize this man?"
It's pretty common to let your guard down when your close to home. This happened to (y/n), Dan Heng only happened to be in the area when the incident occurred.
The picture made her wince, "that's the alpha from the other apartment building I used to live in. He's the reason I moved; dude was a nightmare."
Make sense, the guy screamed about her leaving him for another man, and turned on Dan Heng because his scent was on (Y/n). Dan Heng was one of the few alphas in the building, the building landlord had them spaced out to ensure at least one alpha was on every floor. DanHeng was the only one on their floor.
(Y/n)'s omega was purring; he was warm and comforting and kind. A great mate... too bad he wasn't interested...
...
After that incident, (Y/n) went back to her old life. mostly. "(Y/n) are you okay? Need any help?" she flinched hearing the man's voice. "Mm-mm!" in her mouth was a delicious pop tart she had been eating on her way home. He took the bags anyway, she frowned, he could see in them...
Him sticking around was not something she expected.
(Y/n) could only hope he stuck around for the future. It didn't help that he released his scent whenever he saw her.
'I'm definitely asking this guy out.'
