It's Play Time!

Chapter 41

Just as she predicted, her new friends came back for Carlton and Jason. But not before Mr. Bunny locked the doors so they couldn't get back again.

"Why would he do that?" She wondered to herself.

Suddenly, Marla and Lamar burst through the door. She stood as stiff as she could as to not disturb them.

Marla looked at Lamar, who nodded. She watched intently as Marla grasped the door knob, clenching her teeth, and forced the door open all in one motion.

"Marla!"

Marla jumped, barely suppressing a scream. Jason was huddled up in the space beneath the monitors, his eyes wide and terrified, staring at the door like frightened mouse.

"Jason!" Marla crawled into the control room and swooped him into her arms. Jason hugged her back, for once grateful, even desperate, for her intense affection.

"Jessica? We found him. He's okay." He spoke into his walkie talkie.

"Marla? Mara!" Jason struggled to escape from her crushing hug. She let go but took hold of his shoulders for a moment, peering into his eyes as if to be sure it was really him.

"Marla, cool it." Jason said, clearly trying to keep his voice from shaking. Marla began to scold him about how dangerous it was.

Suddenly, Marla saw something on the monitor that alarmed her.

"Look. Lamar, warn them." She said urgently.

"Jessica, the guard is somewhere around there. Hide!"
