Suddenly, all the screens flipped to static.
"Hey!" Marla cried. "Something's wrong," Lamar said. "Bonnie." Jason whispered. "Bonnie." "Where's Bonnie?"
She looked over at the stage and sure enough, Jeremy was gone. She decided this was her cue.
"Rip it off fast." Her mother's words echoed in her head from whenever she would scream and cry about the pain the bandaid caused her when she tried to take it off.
She yanked her foot upwards as hard as she could, sending the nails that bolted her down flying across the room.
"What the hell?!" They all peered out of the control room at her.
"You're all going to die!" She screamed then laughed hysterically. Marla immediately slammed the control room door shut.
Suddenly, Charlie ran through the room and into the bathroom. Not a moment after, Bonnie entered the room and searched, then looked to Lori with longing eyes.
"She's taking a bathroom break." She gestured to the bathroom. "Why don't you let her know the party's not over. She's missing out on the fun!" She giggled to herself and hopped off the stage with elegance and beauty and grace.
"No! If you're ever going to be a lady, you must learn to act like one!" Her mother's voice rang in her ears when she asked if she could play baseball. Would she ever be a lady now.
"Fritz, get that boy." She whispered as he peeked out of the curtains. "Whatever ye say, lassy." "I'm not a lassy!" She huffed, crossing her arms. She knew it was just his programming causing him to speak like that, but she couldn't help but be annoyed. She hated that nickname.
She walked into the main dining area where chica was now getting off stage.
"I have to find the bad man. I have to! I can't let him get away again!" All the voices in her head urging her to the backroom, when suddenly Charlie burst through the door and tugged on the control door.
"John!" She screamed.
"Charlie, it's stuck!" He answered.
Foxina yanked her by her hair and threw against the wall.
"You've really outta learn how to be quiet in a place like this." She spat hearing Charlie's quick and frightened breaths.
"Oh, wait, wait. Let me guess. You wanna be spared. Well guess what? We wanted that too. But in your case I suppose you know just what this feels like, right?" She scoffed as Charlie choked out a noise of confusion.
She grabbed her by the hair and lifted her up. She let out a cry of distress.
"Apologies, little one. Does that hurt?" She lifted a claw and made a light incision across her face just enough to make split open a vain. If she had any, that is.
Sure enough, blood began to seep from her wound and lead rivers down her face. She seemed too shocked and frightened to feel the pain.
"So you do bleed. What are you made of? And why can't I see through you?" She peered into her eyes as if that would assure her what kind of creation this is. A tear rolled down her cheek. She could cry too?
"You don't even know what you are, do you? You do not even realize you are not Charlie. That you are nothing."
"Lori..."
"Michael?" She dropped Charlie on the ground and looked around. Charlie scrambled to her feet and took off to hide like a frightened mouse.
"Awww! Leaving so soon? Come on! I know you've got questions I can answer. It was your decision to become our prey." She hummed, searching the room.
"Lori! Come."
She whipped around to see Fritz with a gleaning smile on his face.
"I got him! I got the little boy! He's safe now."
