Two Friends

Getting to his destination was a lengthy walk. Red never minded though. He was used to walking a lot back in the surface web's cyber city. Back then, it was because he couldn't afford a car and never learned how to drive. Now, he could probably afford one of the newer models. Though he was told to keep a low profile so that was out of the question. It wasn't like there weren't any taxis or buses, but he didn't trust it. Honestly, walking was his safest option. Besides, those who saw his coat immediately knew to back off. To the average darkner, it may look like a simple long coat, but to those who resided in the dark web, it meant they were high up in a gang. Capable of putting you down in an instant.

After walking for nearly an hour, he finally reached it. The area was pretty quiet compared to the rest of the city because it was the edge of it all. There wasn't really anyone around. Another possible reason was the giant ravine. Sure, there was a fence, but with the right tools or even just by climbing it, anyone could get past it. Red actually wondered if there was anybody who used it. Walking towards the fence, he looked into the giant ditch.

He almost wanted to jump in it.

For so many years, he's done despicable things. It was all so that he could survive is what he would always tell himself. It's what helped him sleep at night. But to do something like that to his friends?

First there was Pink. He honestly had no idea that the rings would cause this much trouble. He would have never given them to him otherwise. Did he and Pink have the greatest relationship? Not really. They were fine friends, but when he and Spamton were going through their separation, Red did admittedly get nastier towards him. But he never wanted something like this to happen.

Then there was Spamton. Ever since they met, Red felt like he always had to look out for him. They had been through so much together. Red was the one that listened to him when he was down on his luck for so many years. The one who stood by his side when everyone else turned their backs. The one who dyed his hair. The one who Spamton went to when he was about to get kicked out of Queen's mansion.

And I nearly tore his arms off.

What about the others? Would they get mixed into this? He certainly hoped not.

But what if they do? What then?

"Come on man. Don't do this!"

"Please, I'll pay it off somehow. Just please give me one more day!"

       "You're a monster!"

                  "Please spare me!"

"I don't want to die!"

"No no!"

              "HELP."

"IT'S KILLING ME. STOP STOP STOP."

      "RED, PLEASE!"

So many voices have haunted him over the years. Now new ones have entered the mix. Their voices. There will be more. It was inevitable.

Maybe I don't have to be here to find out.

As soon as Red put a foot onto the fence, he heard a loud commotion coming from a nearby building.

Oh right. There was a reason why I came here.

Walking towards the decrepit building, he could hear all the noise get quieter and quieter. Once he was at the door, it was dead silent. Smiling, Red entered the place. No one could be seen or heard. No one was there.
