THOSE DAYS

the running rounds

The next day , me and my mom went to the school in the morning . I wore my new school uniform and shoes and I felt somewhat proud , walking through the hallway with a brand new dress . It felt kind of satisfying . When me and mom reached at the doorstep of the staff room , I saw both Noah and Arlo already standing in front of the teacher but without their parents . We were about to enter but Arlo started speaking to the teacher

" Teacher , I told you that Catherine didn't cheat . It was me and Noah who were going to cheat. She found about it and wanted to tell you to stop us "
"How could you cheat !? "
" Sorry teacher but only both of us were involved so please spare Catherine "
" How could you both....!! This time both of your scores will be set to zero ! Also turn in an essay of self reflection .three thousand words Must be profound "

I was shocked , not only because Arlo took my side but also at the cruelty of the punishment given to them . The teacher kept shouting at him and then my mom started to speak

" Catherine , I didn't knew that you could make friends so early . I guess you've made more friends than you had at your previous school . "

Just then the teacher saw my mom and called both of us in . As we entered, I saw Lucas standing at the corner , arranging some books. I could already expect him to be in the staff room cause he was the topper and our class president . Soon the teacher asked the four of us to leave the staff room and to head to the class . Lucas , Noah and Arlo left the room before me so I ran to catch up to them .soon I saw three of them as I shouted in the hallway

"Hey Arlo ! "
" What you dumbhead "
" Thank you for helping me testify "
"Who told you to be nosy ?"
"It's not right that you cheated"
"No time to talk to you . Let's go Noah"

Soon after that, both of them left and only me and Lucas were left behind . Lucas looked at me and passed me his smile by saying

"Don't you mind . He is like this . It takes some time to get along well."
"Maybe you're right . This guy doesn't seem to be that bad "
" Yeah . Let's go to the class now or we'll be late "
"Yes . Lead the way master "

After the classes got over ,I straight away went to my home but when I was just a few steps away from my home , I saw Arlo and Lucas standing at the doorstep of Arlo's house . I knew that the three of us were neighbors but I still never saw both of them together in my neighborhood . The first thought which came straight away to my mind was that
' have they reconciled ? '
Due to curiosity , I changed the direction of my steps and headed straight towards Arlo's house . When I was close enough to hear their conversation I stopped and listened both of them talking

"Arlo , you told me that you had the new game cards. You brought it right? At the first it was agreed that one person would coach one . The one who wins gets the game cards . Now keep your promise . will you ? "
"If I knew then I wouldn't make this damn bet with you "
Soon I busted out in anger
"So you both did it because of this damn cards right !? "
" So what's wrong in it "
"I saw it all "
" Oh !You saw it? I saw it all too . isn't it Great ? "

Suddenly then , a loud and husky voice came from behind calling out Arlo's name . When I looked behind , it was Arlo's dad . He had a feirce look on his face and through looking both of their behavior and face , one could easily know that they both were father and son . When I looked at Arlo's face , his face grew pale at the sight of his dad's feirce look . Just then ,both of their conversation or more accurately , fight started
