Chapter Twenty: Kinda Love.

~Sadie's POV~

Toby pulled me up out of the snow bank and into his arms, hugging me tightly.

"What does this make us?" He whispered lightly into my ear. It tickled and I giggled.

"I don't know." His body was giving me warmth. I jumped, and he caught me, his hands warming up the top of my thighs.

"You are light. How much do you weigh?"

"190."

"That's it? Jeez!"

I sighed and put my chin on his shoulder. There in the window, was Jack, his face bright red with fury. My eyes widened, and I got out of Toby's arms.

"Let's go back inside."

I wrapped my arm around his and held his hand, walking inside.

Jack was standing there with Elizabeth. He was tensed up, face red with anger.

"Hey Jack, are you okay?" Toby let go of me, walking toward his friend.

"I'm leaving Toby."

"What is the matter with you?"

"Sadie. She was mine and you knew it!" Jack lunged at Toby, knocking him to the ground. I stood there shocked. Elizabeth started crying and she ran up to me, grabbing my leg.

"Jack! Get off of him!" I moved Beth gently to the side and grabbed Jack's shoulders, pulling them back.

I fell backward, Jack's head in my lap. Toby looked at him with anger.

"Jack, you have crossed the line. Sadie, we're leaving."

"But Toby. We just got here.." I tried to reason with him, but I let him decide our leave.

Jack would leave in a few days. Elizabeth decided to stay with him. I wasn't comfortable at first, but when I saw their connection I couldn't sever it.

~Toby's POV~

I was simmering like a pot, about to boil over. Sadie was sitting beside me, looking out the window at the snow. I didn't know what we were, but her defending Jack at that moment.. Well that kinda pissed me off.

"Toby, are you alright?"

I looked over at Sadie and gave her a half smile. I then looked toward the road.

"Jack is just stupid with jealousy. He's just upset that I picked you over him. Besides, he wasn't that good of a kisser anyway."

"What?!"

"That one time, at the party? I was thinking about kissing you, but Jack kinda got to me first.."

"Really?" My cheeks got red, I could feel the blood rushing toward them.

"Yeah you dummy." She flipped her hair back and her light blue eyes were shining brightly, even after the dim day.

"Wow.. I never thought.."

"That someone as charming as me can fall in love with an egotistical yet totally sexy you? I thought the same thing."

"I am not egotistical.."

"How To Be A VIP? You were so showing off your big ego."

"Shut up.. It was fun to do."
