Chapter Twenty-Two: Rolling The Dice

~Toby's POV~

I awoke rested and well, I felt a little stressed. I looked at the clock. Two PM. Holy crap! I jumped out of bed and ran into the living room; Gryphon started barking at me.

"Oh hey Toby." Sadie was lying on the couch watching TV. Gryphon jumped and laid on her stomach.

"Hey babe."

"Olga came by."

"Oh really?" I walked in front of the couch and saw Sadie's hand wrapped up with ice.

"What the hell happened?!"

"I punched her."

My eyes widened and Sadie shrugged. I smiled and sat on her feet.

"Your butt is really warm."

"Why thank you. I know something else that's warm."

Sadie's mouth dropped and she smacked my arm. I laughed and she moved her feet, and man did that feel weird.

"Anyway, what do you want to do today?"

"How about a day on the town?" Sadie's eyes widened.

"Oh no. I don't want to be seen with you."

My heart and pride, got crushed.

"What?"

"Toby! Not like that love!" Sadie sat up and wrapped her arms around me. I just sat there.

"Then what did you mean?"

"I don't want people attacking me just because I'm with you Toby. I'm not a crowd person."

"Well I think I figured that out when I met you at VidCon."

Sadie just sighed and put her head against my shoulder. Gryphon barked. A phone rang.

"I'll go get it." Sadie got up and walked toward the kitchen, ruffling her hair.

~Sadie's POV~

I checked my caller ID. It was Delaney. I haven't talked to her in a while.

"Yello?"

"Finally Sadie. We haven't talked to each other in like, forever!"

"Yeah huh?"

"Anyway, any news?" I could hear her giggling through the phone.

"Just watch a Toby Vlog later on today. You'll get the answers."

I said my goodbyes and hung up, walking to Toby who was still on the couch.

"Let's go to the Grove."

"I thought you didn't want to be mobbed."

"I thought about it Toby, and I want people to know. I was just a clumsy surfer with no hopes and look at me now."

"You were a surfer?! You're so pale I wouldn't expect that!"

"Well looks can be deceiving." She pulled off her shirt and walked right by me.

Woah.. She went into my bedroom and closed the door. Damn it Sadie. Stop teasing me.

~Sadie's POV~

I ran around Toby's room. I couldn't find my bag. And I took off all my clothes. Oh God what do I do?!

"Sadie.. You okay?"

Toby was knocking at the door.

"I'm naked!" Holy shit why did I just yell that?!

"Woah there okay then." I heard Toby walk away. Ugh! I'm so stupid! I left the bag out there. I grabbed his blanket and wrapped it around myself.

Time to go Gandalf style.

I ran out there and I tripped. Toby was right there and he turned around.

"Sadie!" He ran over and picked me up. The blanket fell.

"Oops!" He picked it up and covered me with it.

"Thanks. I just needed to grab my bag."

Toby walked over and grabbed it, Pads falling out.

"Oh holy hell."

I looked at Toby, who was blushing, and I walked over, picking them up along with the bag.

I ran back into the room and got dressed. Short shorts, so I can try and get a tan. A red tank top, and black high top converse. I put my hair in a ponytail and walked out.

Toby was sitting there awkwardly staring at me. Everything that could go wrong did. Hopefully not anymore today.

We arrived at the Grove at around 3. Toby opened my door and grabbed my hand. He slipped on his sunglasses and he put some on me.

"Thanks love."

Toby was silent for nearly thirty minutes.

"Toby.. Toby what's wrong?" He pulled me next to a tree and held me to it.

"To.." I didn't even get to finish his name. His lips dropped on mine like a bat out of hell. Before I closed my eyes, I looked around. People were staring. I couldn't hold on to my sanity.

I grabbed Toby's face and kissed him harder. He shoved away and smiled charmingly at me. I was breathing heavily.

"That doesn't answer why you wouldn't talk to me."

"I was contemplating that kiss. Glad I was up for the idea."

I laughed and I could feel my face cooling off, the blush going away somewhat. People came up to us, asking us who I was, and if I was Toby's girlfriend.

Toby smiled proudly and answered every question with a yes. Except the sex question. I was waiting. No matter how tempted I was right now.

We rolled the dice, and it paid off.
