I thought it was love
I thought it was a happily ever after in the making
Thought she was the one
She was my first
My first crush
My first love
My first date
My first kiss
My first forever after
I thought she was a miracle
Sent from the gods above to comfort me-
Protect me-
Love me-
Cherish me
I've never been so afraid of being wrong
It was magical
That first kiss
It happened fast
Without warning
But it was so easy-
So simple
Like it was meant to happen
But it got too deep too fast
I wanted love-
Soft kisses and orange peel smiles
She wanted practice and experience-
Red paint to cover the white roses
And I was an easy target
She loved me
In some way I know she did
But her love wasn't enough to understand the word no
Her love didn't reach farther than the passion of our lips
Her love-
Without mine-
Was meaningless
And that nearly broke me to the point of no return
