As it was a clandestine event, Odin decided to hold the hearing in his private study. Lestat wouldn't talk to Loki beyond the absolute minimum when he returned to teleport him to the meeting. He stole a glance at the Marquis from the corner of his eye, his back straight, his blond hair combed back. He didn't look nervous at all, if anything, he looked young and self-assured with his chiseled jaw, flawless skin and otherworldly eyes that seemed to soak up the colours around them. A beauty that could literally kill. Lestat caught him staring and his eyes darkened with ire.
"You better come through, princeling, or I will make the rest of your long life very uncomfortable."
"I have no doubt about that." Loki told him silently, standing his gaze as they teleported in front of Odin's study. "You have my full support. I won't let any harm come to you. Are you ready?"
Lestat took a deep breath, then exhaled.
"Yes, let's do this." he replied.
"I will go in first and then introduce you."
"No tricks." Lestat told him, grabbing his elbow for a second, then let go; his touch was ice cold. Loki nodded and knocked on the door, then opened it.
'Father.' he said, bowing his head.
'Come on in, Loki. We are ready for you.'
'Let me introduce Lestat de Lioncourt.'
Lestat walked in and stood next to Loki, taking an elegant bow. The room was slightly bigger than Loki's study, its walls decorated with different kinds of swords, axes and shields with a huge map of Asgard, bookshelves filling up the remaining space. The All-Father was sitting behind his desk, Frigga and Thor were seated next to him. Thor and Odin weren't wearing their armours, they were dressed informally along with Frigga who was smiling at Lestat encouragingly.
'Welcome, Lestat de Lioncourt.' Odin roared. 'This is an informal audience due to its sensitive nature. Allow me to introduce you to my wife, Queen of the Nine Realms and my other son, Thor. They are here to consult me.'
Lestat bowed to each one of them.
'Loki, please take a seat.' Odin said, gesturing towards the last remaining armchair.
'Yes, Father.'
They waited until Loki sat down, then Odin waved Lestat to step closer.
'Allow me to begin with the elephant in the room, the agreement Prince Loki signed. He had no right to sign it and until I decide otherwise that agreement is void and non-enforceable, I hope he made that clear to you.'
'Yes, Your Majesty. Prince Loki was very clear about that and he signed the agreement as a goodwill gesture on his part for my services.' Lestat said, his voice clear and unafraid.
'Good, as long as we are all on the same page.' Odin said, shooting a side glance at Loki, then focusing his attention back to the vampire. 'That being said, I have read the document and I must say, it is very a smart and thorough proposal, however we can discuss all that after you answered some of my questions.'
