Erica's POV

"Are you sure this isn't prohibited at this rate of time?" I kept asking if it was quite safe for the guards and maidens to be seen partying at the royal garden.

"It's sure safe." Linda told me.

"And come on girl stop worrying over nothing, lets head out." Rosa persuaded dragging me off her bed.

Yes, I was in their room since lady Nika wasn't around.
When we got to the royal garden, everywhere was lively.

When I was a princess, I never go to gatherings or parties like my sister's. I was more secluded and like to be left alone most of the time.

Drinks were served, food were served, musical instruments were played and everyone was interacting while I sat on my own observing.

Someone patted my back to get my attention, when I looked up, I saw it was David, suddenly I saw myself smile.

"Hey." I greeted first.

"Enjoying the simple gathering?" He asked with a smile.

"Trying to get used to it."

"Calm down Erica. I want you to be free with everyone, okay?" He assured as I nodded in approval.

It's funny how David is looking out for me. It's so funny how he cares for me right from the start I met him . It's also funny how he sees me like a sister he wants to keep safe. All of this Is so funny.

Partying was over and I was more than happy. The maidens and guards cleared the garden as Rosa and Linda went to bed a bit drunk while I laid on the grass of the royal garden.

I've always been around many but still feel so lonely.
I could now breath since that day I told Steven to leave me alone and I was more than happy.

His presence can't make me think.
After biting me, the way he licked my neck to cure it was suffocating.

Suffocating in a good way and that's not right, not at all. It will never happen again, I'll make sure of that.

A week went by as the preparation of king Steven and lady Nika's  marriage was coming soon.
They were nice couple but I just feel lady Nika isn't the right woman for Steven.

Hahaha, how is that even my business?

After day break I went into the kitchen to see the girls preparing breakfast.

"I'm so worried about Princess Emma." One of the maidens spoke up.

My eyebrows squeezed in confusion.

"What happened?" Another asked.

"She's seriously ill and she can't move most of her body." The first maiden told us.

"How did she get to such condition?" I questioned being so considered about her wellbeing.

"I don't really know, under 2 days boom she fell ill," one of them said.

Suddenly my eyes became watery at my negligence. Why didn't I know she was so ill?

She might be the sister to my enemy but deep down I didn't want anything to happen to her. I won't lie if I tell you I've suddenly liked Emma. I feel such urge to keep her safe.

She sees me differently, she sees that we vampires and humans can unite, which is impossible? She shows me not all of their kind are mean.

I don't want any thing to happen to my Emma. If she likes me I like her back.
