"So you finally figured me out, huh Jiminie?" Taehyung grinned. He stood at the edge of Life and Death and knew he had nothing but time.
Jimin nodded at his friend. A man who had seemed so familiar and yet so novel to him when he'd met him. They'd gotten along like peanut butter gets along with jelly if Jungkook had been the bread. "I know who you really are. All of what you really are."
Jungkook glanced to Jimin at that as Taehyung asked, "And what am I?"
"The Archangel of Time. The only thing that Death ever created. You're my brother. The part of me I carved from myself to make because before you, there was no end and no beginning. There was only me and only Jungkook. I remember it all now. We agreed to create you out of a desire for more. Without you, life has no limits and death has no weight. You were meant to be our balance. Our common ground. And you were. You created everything and everyone else. You were called God because you, with help from Jungkook, created all this," Jimin gestured vaguely around them, "and I was there to make sure that nothing went past it's time. I was seen as vengeful. As cruel. Jungkook knew though. And so did you, because you're made from me. A true soulmate. If Jungkook is my other half, you are the piece that I cut out to let in his light."
"And the piece of me I gave you to make all this left a hole for his darkness to cast the beautiful shadows to dim all the bright," Jungkook added.
"Yes," Taehyung smiled brightly. "I am your brother. And the angels are my sons."
Jimin sat with his back against the tree Taehyung was leaning against. "Why didn't you just tell me all this when we met? Maybe I wouldn't have done some of the things I did. Maybe I would've remembered who I was sooner!"
Taehyung shook his head knowingly. "No. It couldn't come from me. You created me, but I am not the part of you that was missing. It had to be Jungkook. He's always been your fate. Right from the start. As soon as you mentioned to me that you couldn't easily seduce and corrupt him, that he was immune to your siren voice...I knew it was time. That I would no longer be needed as your protector. That the second war was coming and that it would be time for you to make your choice. Hmm, time," he chuckled, amused at his unintentional joke.
"As the creator of all this. Of all these people and angels, demons and devil alike. I know it's defining hour is soon to come. I made all this to give you both a more fulfilling life. To make sure you were never alone, but the time to decide the fate of my world has come and it's up to those whom it was created for to shape the future of it. I have to face my once favorite son once again and the side you choose will be the victor. If you do not choose each other and stand on opposite sides, you will face each other and this world will fall to ruin at your feet. If you choose to stand together, whatever ending you pick will be a guarantee. I'll leave the decision to you. If you want to start anew and end this world in flames and hellfire, so be it. I shall aid you in creating a new reality. If you should choose to save this one, you will have my assistance there as well."
Taehyung slid down the tree trunk to sit next to Jimin. He took the man's small fingers in his own and began to play with them, a fond smile sprouting on his lips. He flipped his arm so that his wrist was facing up. There, a yin yang symbol was glowing to life as it began to ink itself on Jimin's skin. Jungkook glanced at his own wrist to find the same thing happening to his own. Meanwhile, Taehyung held up his forearm to show the white and black dots now glowing on the skin at the base of his palm.
"It seems, my brothers, my soulmate and my co-creator, that it has already begun. Our reunion has set it all in motion. I'm glad you found me again. I'm glad you both remember now. When the time comes...I'll find you both again. You will alter the course of this world's history and I will be there to help you write it. I love you both. Good luck," Taehyung grinned softly at the pair as he vanished in a flutter of golden feathers.
Jungkook took up Taehyung's spot next to Jimin. Chancing a kiss to Jimin's temple, he whispered in his ear, "Look what you made. If not for Taehyung's creation, none of this would've been possible. The only thing death ever created, and it was the beginning of time."
Jimin's tears dripped slowly over his sad smile. "And now all that my creation made could be for nothing. Jungkook...what do we do?"
Another kiss was planted on Jimin's temple. "What do you want to do, my sweet angel? This will all come down to you, after all. I've always followed your lead and I have no intention to stop now."
"Then I suppose we have something very important to do," Jimin nodded, pursing his lips in slight fear.
