Red Son's POV

Oh. My. God.

MK fell asleep. In my room. Against my shoulder.

Our backs are up against the bed, with a blanket covering the both of us. My laptop is balanced on my lap.

You may be thinking, Red Son, how did you find yourself in this platonic situation?

It turns out this building has like, no heating. So we got a blanket. It was still quite cold so we huddled up. For body heat. And nothing else. So there we were, watching Shrek on my floor when I started to hear soft snoring coming from beside me. I looked over to see MK snoring with his head backwards. I knew that couldn't be comfortable, so I gently moved his head onto my shoulder. Because I didn't want his neck to be sore or anything. I also wanted to finish Shrek 2.

Until I fell asleep. And woke up to the alarm on my phone telling me it was time to get ready for my first class.

"Agh, sorry!" MK says frantically, standing up.

"No, it's fine!" I say.

"No, it's not. I'm really sorry," MK replies.

"Seriously, I don't care," I insist.

"Okay, fine. What class do you have first?" MK asks.

"Music theory," I say with a groan, going to grab my backpack.

MK checks his phone, "Me too."

"Would you like to walk there together?" I ask, lending him my arm ironically.

He looks flustered, "Sure."

We go our separate ways to get ready, but soon enough we grab our bags and walk to the campus cafe to grab breakfast. MK picks out a cinnamon roll (which I find adorable), and we make our way to the music building. We walk in and take a seat near the back. A girl with black and green hair sits to MK's left. I, obviously, sit to MK's right.

"Hi, my names Mei," the girl with black and green hair speaks up.

"Hey," MK says with enthusiasm.

"Hi," I say with slightly less enthusiasm, feeling territorial of MK.

"I'm throwing a huge house party on Friday night, you guys wanna come? I'm trying to invite everyone in the school while my parents are out of town. They have this huge mansion and they asked me to watch their house as they're out of town," she explains.

I look to MK, hoping to convey that I'll only go if he goes. He shrugs. "We'll go," I say.

"Great, I'll see you then. Gimme your number so I can send you the address," she responds.

MK wrote down his number on a sticky note, and I again felt a twinge of jealousy that this random girl got his number before I did. Maybe not completely platonically.

"Great," Mei says.

The professor walked in. He had golden hair and a similar red bandana to MK. "Hey guys, I'm Mr. Sun Wukong, but you can call me Mr. Sun."

He had a warm and mischievous smile, and seemed to hold himself with a lot of confidence. I'm sure I'm going to like this class.

~time skip~

At the end of the day, MK and I walk back to our dorm together. The sun is setting in the evening sky, but I still can't take my eyes off of him. He catches me staring, and I look away.

"How was your first day?" He says.

I'm calmed by his voice. "Good, what about you?"

"Good, it would have been better if we had more classes together, though."

My heat melts. I simply can't. I am utterly overwhelmed by his cuteness. We get back to the dorm to find many boxes stacked outside the door.

"Ah, I see my stuff arrived," I say.

"You ordered stuff for us?" MK asks.

"Yep, help me carry this box, will ya," I respond, leaning over to pick up a box.

About an hour later, we've fully furnished our dorm.

"Wow, I never knew you had such a fashion sense," MK laughs.

My pride swells. "I am quite the visionary."

"I'm gonna go study now, good night, Red Son," MK says.

Hearing him say my name gives me butterflies. "Good night, MK."
