There are men who'll betray the empire for what they think is right.

and there are those who'll betray for their gain.

and some are just mad men...

Betrayal can be done for revenge

or to save their loved ones!

But did the reason behind it change the fact that it was treason?

Everlast stood in front of him tall. He was in all black, with Endoler's royal symbols embroidered with gold threads across his coat.

"My lord Vader " and bowed ever so lightly.

he straightened his back looking toward his helmet. People tend to be much more terrified of him. but Mik Everlast was different.

he held himself tall and had an undertone of mockery whenever he was communicating with anything to do with the Empire, even with Palpatine himself. yet he stood by him every empire day,

celebrating the birth of the empire while berating it subtly.

The man had an ego compatible with Palpatine's.

"Lord Everlast" his distaste was not shown by his vocoder. Yet, he was the one who asked for him.

he pointed to the chairs in his office "you may sit"

the other man smiled "no need for pleasantries my lord. you demanded my presence and I'm here my lord." He walked passed him toward the window that was facing his back." but I do confess you

have rather an astonishing view my lord" he stopped a few feats from the window. "what's my bidding, Lord Vader?"

his respirator kept his breath steady.

Mik Everlast . he fisted his prosthetic. There was something unsettling about the man. He did whatever he wanted to with no reciprocation, yet again he had done nothing wrong but to serve the empire.

But it felt as if everything he had ever done was not for the empire but for himself. Even so, he was a hard man to kill. However, he frankly didn't mind Everlast's mockeries of the empire. Palpatine was

rather an old fool, not worthy of the name of Sith or empire; so, it all was fair!

Still, with all the shade surrounding him, Mik Everlast was the only one to be able to execute his plan without Sidious finding out.

He'll deal with him after he'll becomes the Emperor!

He turned and walked to stand by the other man's shoulder.

"what are your thoughts on the rebellion?"

the man was silent for a few seconds. they both stared straight at the scenery of the space available from the viewpoint of his window.

"They are rather getting the upper hand, aren't they?" he said more cheerful than he ever heard from the man.

"what do you want me to do my lord?" his voice was once again monotone.

"do you know the name of the pilot who's responsible for the death star?"

Lord Everlast turned and looked at his side profile. "I was immensely shocked once I heard his name." the man turned back to his previous position "it seems the universe had gained itself another
Skywalker"

he looked at the viewpoint, no he had gained himself a Skywalker, a son.

"I want you to evaluate him, to spy on him for me "

"spy on a single boy, not the whole alliance?"

"the rebellion is a lost cause, the boy is the only one with value "

" a single boy worth more than a whole organization?"

"I don't expect you to understand it, Everlast"

"ah yes, another fallen Jedi that the empire requires !"

Mik Everlast was a smart man, a smart man who had a hunger for knowledge, that sort of knowledge that can crumble empires.

"I remember Count Dooku, he was once a Jedi master "

he remembered the guy that took his hand, well one of them.

"What did happen to Anakin Skywalker?"

He felt anger bubbling down under his very poorly constructed peaceful façade. How dare he ask questions that were none of his business. And to top it all uttering that wretched name!

"that young fool perished by my hands like all other Jedis!" he spat but as always it came in a monotone voice thanks to his vocoder.

"Well then" Everlast turned toward him and bowed "consider it done my lord. I'll be contacting you to share my gains." And walked out of the room

Mik Everlast walked toward his shuttle, giving no mind to his surroundings, after all, all the empire's fleet and men all looked the same, what was new in white, black and grey uniforms and platforms?

his guards bowed once he reached his shuttle's bridge.

"we'll be taking off" he said and walked off to his office.

Lord Vader was an interesting man, pathetic but quite interesting.

he was Palpatine's lap dog, no record to find, a sith lord who came out of nowhere!

but no one came out of nowhere, especially someone like Vader!

he, who was always so emotional, blinded by his anger, driven by his emotions rather than logic.

Oh, it was all too easy to find Darth Vader's roots.

a knock on his door brought him back to reality.

Dewayne, the high General of Endoler was standing at his door firm.

"Please come in my friend"

The man was tall and built strongly, he was wearing the dark blue uniform of Endoler's Army.

The General sat down on a chair across from him." so what did Vader want?"

he reached over for the wine bottle and poured some for the two of them.

"our dear friend Vader thinks about a coup and overthrowing Palpatine!"

he gave the other man his glass and took a sip out of his.

"oh" Dewayne said unimpressed. "How come so?"

"It's the first thing you see once you look at him"

"so what has changed? Vader was always a puppet!"

he looked at his glass "who do you think Vader is under the mask?"

The taller man raised his eyebrow.

"what if I tell you our dear friend Vader gave away his identity?"

the other man took another sip and stared at him.

"word's about to change again my dear friend, and we're at the very heart of it"

Dewayne put down his glass.

"Lord Vader is Anakin Skywalker" and he took another sip of his wine.
