Lottie's Ship Wish

CHAPTER 9

Fight of the Blessed was a novel like any other novel with heroes and villains, in this case the saviors were the Blessed, and the evil were the Corrupted. Both had similarities and differences. Both were bestowed powers, however Blessed got them after the Corrupted ruled the whole land of Lurra: the whole world of the novel in other words.

Corrupted were once human beings eaten by their greed, they sacrificed their souls to the darkness to get what they wanted, and their powers took a form based on their desire. Just like their name, they were Corrupted for their powers were not clean in the first place. Their wants never quenched, and they ruled Lurra with their contaminated hands and minds. Slavery, corruption, fraud, gambling and many more took place in their reign and humans suffered because of it.

The World Guardian Deity took pity on his creation and bestowed powers to five different people; one power for each one. Powers of space manipulation: the power to teleport and control anything occupying space. Sound manipulation: the ability to be sensitive to any frequencies and use them as their weapon. Super strength: the capacity to lift and fight anything without receiving too much damage. Weapon Mastery: capability to pick anything turn it into extra-ordinary weapon to help humanity in a fight and the last one mind control: a force not to be reckoned with. The power to control anyone they want with just a small whisper. They had no time limit and would only break if the controller said so.

These five people were called Blessed and they fought the Corrupted and released the humans from their iron grasp and the humanity flourished once again with the ancestor of mind control as the King and, space manipulator and sound manipulator as the grand dukes while the two remaining went to their separate ways, residing peacefully at different parts of Lurra.

The reason why humanity lost in the first place because at first glance, you would never know who was or wasn't a Corrupted, but they had one distinguishable feature, they had a corrupted symbol on their chest, right on top of their heart and they won't die unless you strike them in their symbol. They cannot age nor get sick, but they were rotten inside.

You won't be able to know a Blessed by their face either, but they too were born with Blessed symbol on their chest and with extraordinary capability to learn quickly even at young age. However, Blessed could die like any other human unlike the Corrupted. Age, sickness, accidents and tragedy could kill them if they were not careful. They were a bit stronger than human beings but still not invincible.

So, putting that on scale, Corrupted were a frightening force even for Blessed. The heroes defeated them, but they were some survivors hiding in the dark, waiting for the opportunity to strike back.

Why was this brought up in the first place? It's because of Lottie panicking inside her room, scratching her arms in worry as the story of the OG novel came into her mind.

"What to do!? What to do!?" She paced non-stop, back and forth.

"I don't know where she went! She is just a baby girl too!" Yes, Lottie was worried about Ael, the girl she just slapped.

"Why did I even slap her!? WHY DID I EVEN SLAP A CHILD IN THE FIRST PLACE!?" she told herself, pulling her hair in frustration.

She still remembered the very scene and sensation of her slap to Ael. The kid remained frozen, but her eyes were cold as stone before looking away and jumping away from the balcony. That's where Lottie realized what she did.

"Augh! Based on the story, there were still Corrupted in the world and even lurking here in the kingdom of East! What if she met one while crying because of my slap!?" A scene of Ael being preyed upon by bad Corrupted popped into her head.

"NOOO!" Lottie ran out of her room immediately. "I WILL SAVE YOU LITTLE BRAT!"

The servants were flabbergasted by her sudden shout and running but no one paid attention after a few seconds. Well, it's easier for her because no one would stop her for saving Ael.
