Whatever Losers

I roll out of my bed and decided to change my outfit for the Race. I thrown on a white tank top with some old jean shorts, I wince a sharp pain in my side. Those damn socks got me good. I put on my signature converse,  leather jacket and a Necklace that Dallas had " bought" me for my 16th birthday. I look over at the clock on my nightstand, it read 7:30. I guess I could walk to the Curtis' their house is on the way to the track.

I start my walk, the sun was starting to set, and there was a orange glow in the sky. The only thing I really care for in Tulsa, are the sunsets. If it wasn't for the Soc/ Greaser rivalry, Tulsa would be a nice place to live. I never really noticed the sunsets before moving here, the kid Curtis brother, somehow hooked me on them. I know how this sounds... one of the toughest greasers in town gettin all soft and mushy over the sky. But hell, I can't help what I like. I was so stuck on looking at the sun, I didn't even notice that I had made it all the way to the Curtis house.

I walked into the house to find the whole gang except Darry gathered around the living room. Two bit on the floor drinking a beer, Dally sitting in the armchair, Pony and Johnny sitting on the couch. Steve and Soda wrestling. What's new?
"Hey guys".
"Hey D" the gang spoke almost in complete unison. I sit beside Johnny and Ponyboy on the couch.
"Where's Darry?"
"I think already know where he is" Two bit says not looking away from the Tv. That probably means Darry is with the Slu- Kelsey. But that's none of my business. It's his life. Right?
"You look really nice today" Johnny said shooting me a small smile.
"Aww thank you Johnnycakes". I smile back and Ponyboy begins a conversation about different books he's reading in school right now. We talk for a while about different subjects until Soda stands up and says him and Steve are gonna go down to the track to get ready for the race.

A few minutes later the rest of us decided we should get going too, so we could get a good spot to watch the race. We walk to the track and when we get there Dally and Two Bit immediately split to "hunt for action". I just told them to make sure they don't get in trouble, don't need them gettin involved with the fuzz. So those of us that are left( me, ponyboy and johnny) find a place to stand right by the fence so we can see everything. " Guys I'm gonna go find soda before the race starts" The boys nod.

I stand up and start walking to the starting line where Steve and Soda are making final adjustments to my car. " Hey guys, are y'all ready"

"Hell yea", Steve starts hootin
"As ready as I'll ever be ", Soda give m a genuine smile.
" I believe in you guys, y'all got this, I'll be waiting at the finish line when y'all win".I give each of them a hug. "Be safe"
" Aww thanks D we will, look at u going soft". Soda says with a smirk.
" Whatever losers". I flip them off then and as I turn to leave, I walk right into someone. " I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention "

"It's alright, stuf- Delilah? I didn't know that was you""
I look up to see Darry with a huge grin on his face, and his little dumpster Barbie next to him. " Oh hey Darry I didn't see you there, and how have you been whor-Kelsey?" She rolled her eyes and muttered a "fine" through short breaths.
" The race is about to start babe we should find somewhere to sit", Kelsey whines basically pulling Darry away.

" I'll see you later D". Darry pulled me into a quick hug. You would have thought someone had killed her puppy the way Kelsey looked at me. That bitch looked liked
