(Long chapter incoming)

"Game?"

"Follow me," Nanako spoke up, gesturing her arms.

Me and Ann hesitantly followed her as she walked us down the hallway, leading us to a larger room. It was much cleaner than the hallway we had just walked down. The difference was uncanny. She stood in the middle of the room, behind her were two doors, a couple feet from each other with 3 small paintings separating them. Unlike the frame in the hallway, the paintings were nicely kept.

Nanoka clapped her hands, drawing my attention back to her, "Welcome to the Jack of Diamonds, the other player will join shortly."

Her once shy exterior had completely switched as she walked back into the hallway, stopping halfway down before turning and opening a door, gesturing for someone to follow her as she made her way back down the corridor.

The man she had brought out looked completely terrified, I wondered what had happened during the time he was here. How long had he been here? How long had Nanako been waiting to play this game?

"Okay!" She made her way back to her previous place in the middle of the room, demanding our attention, "Now that we are all here. . . Let the game begin."

Each one of us was sent in different ways. All four of us took up four respective corners. I started in the bottom right , Ann was in the bottom left. The man, whose name we learned to be Akitomo, took the upper left, and Nanako... she was in the upper right.

She had told us a few things, like how she will have a monitor showing the position of all the players as well as all the illegal doors. Before we were sent on our way, each of the players, including me, were equipped with electric bracelets, with built-in microphones to speak to each other, minus Nanako of course. So now each side had some sort of "perk."

The rooms were small but made up a 10 by 10 grid, using the Letters A-J to mark the rows and the numbers 1-10 to mark the columns. As for me, that means I was standing in J-10.

"Ann, what do we do?"

"I'm not quite sure yet," She answered, "what does your room look like?"

Starting from 1 of the 2 doors from the waiting room we were in before we walked our way all the way through the different rooms, all the rooms were the same. A few doors adjoining another room. Most had three doors, the corners had 2 doors, and anywhere in the middle would have 4 doors. The doors we had already walked through were reset and all of them were 'legal" for now. Over the microphone I could hear the man crying, I couldn't blame him, but for now I had to talk to Ann. If anybody could solve a diamond game, it would be her.
