Nyla's Pov
Houston, Texas✈️
Sunday, 9:03 AM🕰️
June 4th

________

"Morning Birdie," Trey greeted Nyla as she appeared from the hallway. She smirked at the smell and sight of the sizzling pieces of crispy bacon that he was cooking up.

"Good morning but when did you get here? I ain't hear you walk in." Nyla asked and grabbed a strip of bacon from the small with plate he was pouring them onto. He shrugged his shoulders explaining that he only had just arrived at her apartment a few minutes prior, instantly starting to cook.

She sat down at the small island table in front of him and rested her chin on the smooth surface of her forearm. A part of Nyla hesitated on telling her brother that she was currently maybe hiding her ex. She didn't know how he would exactly react to that, given their past and everything that happened the other night.

The girls were all pretty shaken up.

"When are you gonna explain what the fuck happened on Friday?" Her voice grew aggressive just thinking about it. Since Friday he was beating around the bush with what happened, even going to lengths to just straight up ignoring her. "I told you what it was Nyla. Niggas had targets on dem and they was dealt with, unfortunately others were caught in the mixed." Trey vaguely explained to her.

"Trey stop lying to me, you know I don't like that. It's obviously more than just that because you wouldn't just leave me like that-" She started to piece more of the dots together before being cut off.

His phone started ringing with the familiar names of Nate on it. So before he could even reply, he snatched his phone and walked towards the front door. "I told you that's all it was. I'll see you later on I have to go,"

Nyla watched him disappear behind the door right as Kevin walked into the kitchen, creating an awkward environment.

At the party that night and after Trey had left the girls, Nyla couldn't help but feel bad and bring Kevin along with them since it was just a graze she could fix him up with some supplies at her house. Of course the girls and Nyla herself had questions but everyone knew they weren't going to be answered. It was the least she could do anyways, he protected her.
