Eddie was sat in the waiting room, gathered with the rest of the 118 and Maddie. Athena was pacing outside, making calls to the rest of the LAPD, determined to find out what was going on.
He heard Chim gasp, and he looked up to see the doctor coming to talk to them.
"Are you the 118?" He asked quietly.
Athena appeared at Eddie's side as they all nodded.
"He inhaled a lot of smoke, and his heart went into cardiac arrest. We tried to operate but he was too unstable."
Athena stifled a sob, grabbing Eddie's arm for support. Hen, Chim and Maddie all looked just as shocked.
"I'm sorry," continued the doctor "but he did not make it."
