Stanley gasped as he woke up, with a start, in front of his computer, again. Stanley tried to calm his breathing 'that...was too much' he thought to himself but, after a few minuets of him staring into space trying to understand what just happened, he gasped again 'Tumblr!' he thought as he remembered his blog going on his computer and on to Tumblr. Stanley sat there thinking about what to write. Stanley had decided he was gonna stay in his office for a bit all he really wanted to do now was hide away, he wrote down everything he could remember and posted the post, getting up and closing his office door.
"But Stanley couldn't handle the pressure" Stanley cover his ear's as he went under his desk 'shut up...I want to be alone' Stanley thought to him but he kept talking "What if he had to make a decision? What if a crucial outcome fell under his responsibility? He had never been trained for that! No, this couldn't go any way except badly." Stanley growls trying to shut out the Narrator the best he could "The thing to do now, Stanley thought to himself, is to wait. Nothing will hurt me. Nothing will break me. In here, I can be happy, forever. I will be happy. Stanley waited. Hours passed. Then days. Had years gone by? He no longer had the ability to tell. But the one thing he knew, for sure, beyond any doubt, was that if he waited long enough, the answers would come. Eventually, some day, they would arrive. Soon, Very soon now, this will end. He will be spoken to. He will be told what to do. Now it's just a little bit closer. Now it's even closer. Here it comes.." And everything went black.
The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End.
Stanley woke up in front of his computer, he banged his fist against his desk, he sighed as he opened Tumblr. He looked at the time of his last post, it said 'Posted 1 hour ago'. Stanley blinked then looked to the time of his other post, it said 'Posted a day ago'. 'So time differs between resets?' he thought to himself as he began to write out a angry post about the Narrator, posting it as well as he got up and left the office as he knew exactly what he wanted to do 'This is war, Narrator...' He thought to himself.
"All his co-workers where gone, what could it mean? Stanley decided to go to the meeting room; perhaps he had simply missed a memo." Stanley sighed 'are you always going to say that?' he asked the Narrator but got no reply this made Stanley huff a bit 'rude' he thought to him a he walked to the two doors. "When Stanley came to a set of to open doors, he entered the door on his left." Stanley simply shook his head 'Nah' he said as he walked through the right door.
"This was not the correct way to the meeting room and Stanley knew it perfectly well. Perhaps he wanted to stop by the employee lounge just to admire it." Stanley laughed, a bit, he did find the employee lounge to be relaxing. Stanley entered the room "Ah, yes, truly a room worth admiring. It had really been worth the detour after all, just to spend a few moments here in this immaculate, beautifully constructed room. Stanley simply stood here, drinking it all in." Stanley rolled his eyes as he left the room "But eager to get back to business, Stanley took the first open door on his left." Stanley looked down the maintenance hall, he shook his head and waled straight ahead into the cargo bay.
"Stanley was so bad at following directions it's incredible he wasn't fired years ago." Stanley laughed slightly as he looked around, he saw a cargo lift and as he got on to it it started to move and the Narrator started to talk but Stanley ignored him and started to look for a way down. He saw a open door on the catwalks below, he stood back and got ready as he jumped down to the catwalks. "What- really? I was in the middle of something; do you have zero consideration for others? Are you that convinced that I want something bad to happen to you? Why, I don't know how to convince you of this, but I really do want to help you, to show you something beautiful. Look, let me prove it. Let me prove that I am on your side. Give me a chance." Stanley looked up 'Why?' he asked the Narrator "we are the only one's here, give me a chance" he answered Stanley.
It made Stanley think as he walked into another room "Now, listen carefully, this is important. Stanley walked, through the red door." Stanley looked between the red and blue door 'Fine...' he thought, annoyed, as he walked through the red door.
"Oh, thank god, you are willing to listen to me. Do you realize that I really have wanted you to be happy all this time?" Stanley clenches his fist, his anger boiling at the Narrator's words, he didn't believe the Narrator but he kept quiet and let him talk. "Don't you see that it's killing us Stanley? I just... I want it to stop. I would, we would both be much happier if we just stopped. And I think, well I think I have a solution. Here, let me show you." The Narrator stopped talking as a door opened and Stanley went through it.
Stanley kept walking down the pitch black hallway "Hmm... what do we want? What are we looking for... hm?" Stanley stepped on a platform in space with loads of floating lights "Here! Yes! Oh, it's beautiful, isn't it? If we just stay here, right in this moment, with this place... Stanley, I think I feel... happy. I actually feel happy." Stanley sighs 'good for you' he said to the Narrator sarcastically as he went through a door. "No, wait... where are you going?" The Narrator sounded sad but Stanley didn't answer, he came into a room with a big staircase.
"Oh, no! Stay away from those stairs! If you hurt yourself, if you die, the game will reset! We'll lose all of this!" Stanley climbed the stairs 'Stop me then.' He thought to the Narrator. "Please, no, Stanley, let me stay here! Don't take this from me!" Stanley growls 'Oh, a lot like you taking my life away from me and trapping me here!' he retorted as he got to the edge "What...I didn't...You don't..." The Narrator stumbled over his words "Please, Stanley, think about what you're doing!" Stanley didn't listen and jumped off. "NO!!" Stanley hit the floor with a splat, his leg now broken, Stanley let out a small pained noise as he got up "Oh... thank god. You lived. You had me worried there for a moment. Now, can we please get back to the other room?" Stanley struggled to climb the stairs again, pain shooting through his leg with each step he took. "Stanley... go back... there's nothing good that can come from this!" Stanley tried his best to block the Narrator out. "Do you just not believe me? What can I say to convince you?" Stanley stopped at the edge again 'why am I here?' he asked the Narrator "Stanley..." Stanley looked up crying now 'I want my life back!' he shouted to the Narrator as he jumped off again and hit the ground making his forehead start to bleed this time. "Stanley... let's go back to the other room... Can you do that for me?" asked the Narrator but Stanley wasn't paying attention as pain radiated through his body and he started to drag his body up the stairs again. "My god, is this really how much you dislike my game? That you'll throw yourself from this platform over and over to be rid of it? You are literally willing to kill yourself to keep me from being happy? Am I reading the situation correctly?" Stanley sat down at the edge, in a lot of pain, he thought about the questions but sighed, hoping this was the last time, as he pushed himself off the edge. "Or maybe you're just getting a kick out of it. I don't know anymore. I just wanted us to get along, but I guess that was too much to ask. It looks like you wanted to make a choice after all. Well, this one is yours." Stanley got to the edge again after the Narrator stopped talking, he felt bad, and jumped off the edge again.
"Is it over? It's going to restart, isn't it. I'm going back." And Stanley died, his world going black.
The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End.
