Stanley woke up at his computer. He thought about what happened before smiling slightly, they promised to work together so that is what they was gonna do and Stanley was excited about it. He wrote his blog post typing out what him and the Narrator had agreed and that he was hoping the both of them could escape, he posted the post and left his office.

"All of his co-workers were gone. What could it mean? Stanley decided to go to the meeting room; perhaps he had simply missed a memo." Stanley started to think what he hadn't done yet 'hay, Narrator? what haven't I done yet?' he asked him, looking up. "Well you haven't followed the story in a while" he said sarcastically as flicked through his script "hmm...you haven't gone down the stairs yet" he replied to Stanley, Stanley smiled 'Thanks, Narry!' he said as he walked to the two set of doors, but the Narrator was still caught up on the fact Stanley had called him 'Narry' but he shook it off and continued reading off his script.

Stanley got to the set of two open doors, he waited for the Narrator to stop talking before, he went through the left door, through the meeting room and stopped at the stair case.

"Coming to a staircase, Stanley walked upstairs to his boss's office." Stanley shook his head 'Nope! but then you already knew I was going downstairs' he joked a bit as he went down the stairs and through a open door. "But Stanley just couldn't do it." Stanley walked into another room as he listened to the Narrator. "He considered the possibility of facing his boss, admitting he had left his post during work hours, he might be fired for that. And in such a competitive economy, why had he taken that risk?" as Stanley listened to the Narrator he started to notice the rooms were repeating themselves. "And for that matter, these rooms were starting to look pretty familiar, were they simply repeating?" the Narrator continued, it sort of eased Stanley to know that this must jus be apart of the ending. "No, Stanley thought to himself, this is all too strange,"

'wait, I noticed that ages ago,, give me some credit' he said, jokingly, to the Narrator who seemed to not take notice of it and just continued on with his script. "and at last he came to the conclusion that had been on the tip of his tongue, he just hadn't found the words for it. I'm dreaming! he yelled, This is all a dream!" Stanley rolled his eyes crossing his arms, it wasn't like he could actually yell in this world.

"What a relief Stanley felt to have finally found an answer, an explanation. His co-workers weren't actually gone, he wasn't going to lose his job, he wasn't crazy after all!" the Narrator continued as Stanley chuckled to himself softly, in the parable he felt like he had gone crazy ages ago.

"I may as well enjoy this while I'm still lucid." the Narrator said "So he imagined himself flying, and began to gently float above the ground." Stanley looked down as he was, in fact, floating. "Then he imagined himself soaring through space on a magical star field, and it too appeared!" and the Narrator was right as star-like light appeared around Stanley. "It was so much fun, and Stanley marvelled that he had still not woken up. How was he remaining so lucid?"

'ooo~ maybe it isn't a dream! dun dun dunnn!" Stanley joked but guessing the ending correctly, it made the Narrator go off script as he laughed "Stanley stop with the jokes!" he said laughing "you're making it hard to stay on script" Stanley laughed a bit as well 'alright, alright, no promises thou' Stanley smirked as he let the Narrator get his composer back and continue on with the script.

"And then perhaps the strangest question of them all entered Stanley's head, one he was amazed he hadn't asked himself sooner: Why is there a voice in my head, dictating everything that I'm doing and thinking?" Stanley made a 'pfft' sound 'you can't guess right what I think half the time. You even think I have a wife when I have a cat' Stanley said, but the Narrator kept his composer this time and continued on "And while he thought it all very odd and wondered if this voice spoke to all people in their dreams, the truth was that of course this was not a dream. How could it be?"

'Guessed it!!' Stanley thought smiling that he had guessed the ending, this made the Narrator laugh again but he stayed on track and kept reading the script "Was Stanley simply deceiving himself? Believing that if he's asleep he doesn't have to take responsibility for himself? Stanley is as awake right now as he's ever been in his life."

'hmm, this is getting kind of meta now' Stanley thought as he kept listening to the Narrator "So he closed his eyes gently," Stanley stopped walking and listened to him closing his eyes. "and he invited himself to wake up. He felt the cool weight of the blanket on his skin, the press of the mattress on his back, the fresh air of a world outside this one. Let me wake up, he thought to himself. I'm through with this dream, I wish it to be over. Let me go back to my job, let me continue pushing the buttons, please, it's all I want."

'yeah, didn't think any of that' Stanley added. The Narrator was a little annoyed by Stanley's remarks, even if it was a bit funny "I want my apartment, and my wif-"

'no wife' Stanley said to the Narrator 'I have a cat,, her name is bucket' he explained to the Narrator. The Narrator stopped "oh,, do you want me to chance it?" he asked 'if it isn't too much trouble, no use having fake info.' The Narrator did chance the script he cleared his throat "Alright, how is this" he asked "I want my apartment, and my cat, and my job." Stanley gave a thumbs up, the Narrator smiled to himself feeling warm and happy for some reason.

"All I want is my life exactly the way it's always been. My life is normal, I am normal. Everything will be fine. I am okay." Stanley opened his eyes and looked up wondering what was gonna happen next as nothing had changed.

"Stanley began screaming" Stanley jumped and the Narrator acted out Stanley being in a frantic state. "Stanley began screaming. Please someone wake me up! My name is Stanley! I have a boss! I have an office! I am real!" Stanley crouched down covering his ears as static started to invade his brain as his vision became distorted and the Narrator sounded further and further away and

"Everything went black"

The Narrator looked to his many monitors they blank for now until one turned on showing Stanley laying face first on a pavement with Mariella standing over him. He read out his script going with the motions, missing Stanley side remarks to the script, like he always did "And then she turned and ran." The Narrator finished as the monitor turned off and all the screens just showed the words 'The End is Never The End' in white all over the monitors.

The Narrator sighed as he waited for the game to reset, his office never got affected by the reset. The Narrator looked to the door, Last reset he had broken it to get to Stanley but surely he could guess the code...he did do it once surely he could do it again and get out of here. he sighed as he sat down again looking at his door, he wanted to leave but he couldn't.

The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End. The End is Never The End.
