Stanley woke up, he looked to his computer, he sighed as he laid his head down on the desk. This was starting to take a toll on Stanley, he wondered what the point of this was, he wondered why was the Narrator and himself stuck here? Stanley sighed again as he lifted his head up and went on Tumblr. He wrote about what he and the Narrator had talked about and explained that he was starting to feel like there was no escape. He posted it then left his office.

"All his co-workers were gone, what could it mean, Stanley decided to go to the meeting room, perhaps he had simply missed a memo." Stanley looked up 'we both know i didn't' he said, sounding bored "yh..." the Narrator answered, he to was getting sick of this. Stanley sighed and made his way to the room with two doors.

"When Stanley entered a room with two open doors he entered the door on his left." Stanley listened and went throw the door on his left, he didn't feel like doing anything so he decided to just listen, and he walked to the meeting room.

The Narrator said his usual line and Stanley went to the staircase, as he came to the staircase he listened to the Narrator and headed upstairs.

But when Stanley got into his boss' office the Narrator just sighed as the passageway opened up "here's the door, just go" he said, sounding bored. Stanley looked up , concerned. 'You ok?' he asked the Narrator. "yeah...i'm fine, Stanley" he said, Stanley didn't believe him but also didn't ask anymore questions. He made his way to the elevator and pressed the button to go down.

"Descending deeper into the building, Stanley realized he felt a bit peculiar" this whole bit meant nothing to Stanley anymore, he looked to the buttons, and when the elevator stopped the up button lit up. This gave Stanley an idea, he pressed the up button giggling a bit as he wanted to know the Narrators reaction.

"Whoops, nope, nevermind! Stanley actually stayed in the elevator and went back up! Silly me!" The Narrator said sounding amused. Stanley smiled, he found this to be funny "Why did Stanley so that, when he knew it would just lead back to his boss' office?" Stanley shrugged "Well that is a good question, i can't wait to find out."

As the elevator stopped Stanley walked back to the bosses office. "Here we are, Stanley, it's your boss' office! Exactly the way it was before you got onto the elevator. It's still exactly what it is." Stanley nodded, it was fun when the Narrator played along. "What a decision you've made to come up here and look at the office again. This has fleshed out the plot of the story in new and fascinating ways i could have neve anticipated. It's that keen eye for storytelling you have, an incisive rapid-fire of critical plot points one after the other, weaving a rich tapestry of uncompromising narrative! Wow" both Stanley and the Narrator laugh, the script long forgotten. "I'm bolted to the edge of my seat!" Stanley smiled and walked back to the elevator and pressed the down button "incredible. Now he's getting back into the elevator and going down again? Ladies, gentlemen and Everyone else in-between, how does he keep coming up with all this?" Stanley was smiling ear to ear, this was fun as they both knew a reset would happen eventually so why not have a bit of fun?

Stanley looked to the button then looked up as he pressed it again, with smirk. 'we need to go up again!' Stanley said as the Narrator chuckled "It's time once again to go back up in the elevator! I can't even begin to grapple what might be up there. Is it the boss' office again? Or what if it's the boss' office this time? The suspense is killing me!" he said sarcastically, laughing a bit as well.

Stanley stepped out of the lift and as he walked back to his boss' office a dramatic noise dropped "oh my god...it's the boss' office " Stanley laughed 'I know, who could have seen that coming?' they both laughed "This absolutely changes everything for me." Stanley laughed at how dramatic the Narrator was being. "Alright. I have fully came to terms with it. I have made space in my worldview for this astonishing new reality. As before i turn to your expert eye for gripping narrative, Master Stanley." The Narrator said, smiling at the monitor he saw Stanley on. This was so much fun to the Narrator, Stanley always knew how to make new endings even if they wasn't scripted.

Stanley got back on the lift "Of course. Going back down in the elevator. How did i not anticipate it?" Stanley chuckled as the Narrator went on a short tangent about just how good Stanley's storytelling was.

'And here Master Stanley makes another brilliant choice!' Stanley said as he pressed the up button again "Hmm...You know what?" the Narrator said as the lift went up "I've just thought of something, hold on, let's stop for a moment" he said as the elevator stopped and Stanley looked up 'What is it?'

"Don't you realize? It's the anticipation, Stanley. You and i, we have no way of knowing what will be at the top of this elevator. But the suspense! The agony of waiting, and anticipation, and having to guess. That's the thrill!" the Narrator said as Stanley listened. "Oh i simply don't want to let that feeling go! It's so precious, so fleeting! Why don't we take the elevator ride nice and slow." he said as the elevator started up again but this time at a slower pace. "There we go. Isn't this so much more exciting." Stanley just shrugged "You know Stanley, it seems like nowadays the only thing that audiences want is to be shocked as loudly and frequently as possible." the Narrator started "They want big explosive moments flung right in their faces from the very moment that things get started. But where's the tension? Where's the trust in the audience to build a slow and nuanced appreciation for the story, the characters? Why aren't we given time to imagine the surprises? To have to think and to anticipate, and then to marvel at the eventual reveal? This is storytelling, Stanley!" Stanley nodded, smiling softly as he listened to the Narrator.

"You're a role model, you know? People look up to you." Stanley raised an eyebrow. "Which is why - oh, I didn't know when to spring this on you but, well..." Stanley tilted his head 'Well?'

"I've gathered a little press conference for you, so that you can talk about your work and your storytelling and your life." Stanleys eyes widen 'Wait, what, how? Narry i can't do that-' the Narrator interrupted "Yes, I know you're not much for the public eye, but I thought it would especially mean a lot to the people who have been following you from the beginning. They really look up to you, Stanley! I don't know if you realize the impact you have on them. This is the kind of gesture that might leave a tremendous impact on them for the better..." he said as they arrived to a red carpeted hallway.

"Okay, the room where we're holding the press conference should be just around the corner here somewhere" Stanley came to a door and like usual it opened for him "Ah yes, here it is, just through this door." Stanley listened and went through the door.

He came up upon a backstage room for him to get ready "Alright. Are you ready? I've told them you're going to speak a little bit about the nature of surprise in storytelling and what it means to craft a truly unpredictable narrative." Stanley swallowed 'uh...Narry...i don't know...'

"Oh, don't worry! You'll do great! Just be yourself and speak from the heart!" Stanley nodded and took a deep breath, putting his hand on the handle "Oh...and Stanley?" the Narrator asked, Stanley looked up "i-i'm really proud of you, Stanley..." Stanley blushed, that sounded so genuine, he smiled and nodded "Okay, it looks like they are ready for you. Go get 'em!" the Narrator said as Stanley opened the door to a massive crowd, all there just for him, and as he got to the stand everything went black.
