We reached the warehouse again. Frankie's sirens can still be heard. It was a good sign, but Ashe checked around the corner just to make sure that the police didn't think it would be the perfect time to check this place out.

"Wow, those cowards ran and didn't look back," Ashe chuckles.

"Nice work, Frankie." I smile at her.

"For all his bluster bravery isn't one of Marco's strong suits." She smirks.

"Let's not hang around to test that," Cole cuts in. "Ashe, want me to take point?"

"You wish. I got us into this; I lead us out. Follow me, and keep close."

We excited the tunnel into the warehouse. To our left was the warehouse and loading dock. To our right, the corridor that led to the way out, crates piled up along one side of it.

"Watch out!" I speed past everyone to pull Ashe out of the line of fire. Bits of concrete fall onto the floor from where the bullet landed.

"Idiot!" Marco cried.

"I said not to hit her! She's the only one still worth anything." Marco had his own rifle, and it was trained on Cole. "Take out the others, but leave her."

"Frankie, get behind B.O.B.!" Ashe opened fire on the loading dock.

Her first shot was for Marco, who, expecting it, ducked out of sight again. It clanged off the shipping container. "Cole?"

"I gotcha," Cole said.

I let her go and pull out my golden gun, firing flaming shots towards them, eradicating all of their covers. I hear a loud scream as one of them gets clipped by my shot with a burning wound on his body.

More shots echoed through the air.

Cole groans loudly, "They're behind us!"

Ashe starts to turn, then screeched as a line of fire tears through her shoulder.

"B.O.B.! Do something!"

The omnic didn't hesitate. He let go of Julian, then dropped one shoulder and charged the crates, colliding with them like a cannonball.

"Everyone take cover!" Ashe cries out to us.

I swear The Diamondbacks had surrounded us, and between the disorienting sirens and the gunfire, I couldn't identify anything.

"I think they figured out your ruse, Frankie," Ashe calls out to her with a strained tone.

"Guess so." Frankie tapped her holo-glasses and the sirens faded.

"Well, that's a little better." Cole leaned against the crates for support.

"Ashe, you're bleeding." I side next to her.

She looked over at her arm. The fabric of her shirt was soaked red, but the wound wasn't deep. "I'm okay; it's only a graze." But there was a pool of blood on the floor nearby, more than could have come from her. "Where did that— Cole!"

More blood was pooling beneath the leg of his trousers. "Yeah," he winced. "They got me, too."

Frankie knelt to examine the injury, a few inches below his knee. She exhaled with relief. "A flesh wound, but we need to get you some help quick."

"Not a priority," said Cole, stealing a glance over the pile of crates. "Ashe—"

"I know," she said, looking for herself.

There was at least a handful of Diamondbacks still in the loading dock, and more we couldn't see. Plus, whoever had fired at them from the other side. At least two, I guessed, though they were hiding again.

"They planned this," she claims. "Figured out what Frankie did and then waited until we were out of the tunnel so we couldn't double back. Now we're stuck."

"Yup," Cole nodded. "We walked into the trap. Now all they gotta do is close it on us."

"Ashe!" Marco sang out again. "I'm losing my patience with you."

"Yeah, sorry about that!" Ashe cries, trying to buy time to think. "But it was worth it to see the cowardly look on your face when you thought the police were outside."

A moment of annoyed silence passed. "Last chance. Give up and we'll go easy on all of you!"

I shake my head. "Ashe. Get everyone out."

She grabs my wrist. "No way-"

"Get her out of here, if I survive and this woman has more bullets in her than I do then I will come looking for answers from each and every one of you," I tell them.

"Damnit! Listen to me, (Y/N) I have a plan."

I nod. "You always do."

I put everything I had on the line rushing forward with all my speed I close the distance with little time to waste. I break through the barricade where they were all hiding and burst through it with particles of electricity bouncing off of me.

My fingers wrapped around Marco's throat I throw him against the furthest wall. Then following it up with a swift knee in the gut I pull out the golden gun aiming at everyone else... but none of them were willing to through their lives away.

"Idiot." Ashe sighs as she walks forward. "That was the plan, get rid of him. Get everyone else on our side."

I nod. "Just need to get him out of the picture then."

Bez says. "We were willing to get rid of Marco, he was going to bring all of us down with him and were just waiting on you to get us to toss him aside."

I chuckle. "Fuck me. Guess I don't get to kill you yet till the boss says so."

"None of these fighting with other gangs over scraps," Ashe continued. "There's plenty to go around if you plan things right. And I always do. Here's a deal for the rest of you: Join up with me. No one gets shot, no one gets blown up, and we all walk away from this better than when we started. 'Cept, Marco, of course. You'll need to do something about him."

Marco struggles underneath my hold.

"Ashe is right." Bez looks at the rest of his crew. "You got us into this mess, Marco. You've gotten us into a lot of messes lately. You've only managed to stay in charge because you kick around the rest of us. That's why Frankie left. Well, I've seen how Ashe runs her outfit, and it's a hell of a lot better than this. Ashe, I'm in!"

A brief silence passed.

Then: "The hell with this," someone else said. "If Bez is joining up with Ashe, I am, too."

"Me too," came another voice.

"Wait-" I slam him across the face and then the back of his head against the wall, knocking him out cold.

Ashe stuck the detonator in her pocket and held out her hand to Bez. "Welcome aboard."

She was going to threaten to blow this place to kingdom come. Huh. But I needed to show off a little otherwise the Ace was just there to look pretty.

He smiled and shook. "Thanks ... boss."

"I only have one rule," Ashe said, addressing them all. "We do things my way. Understand?" They all nodded immediately. "Good. Then first things first. Bez, you go get Frankie and Cole and B.O.B. They can't have gotten too far yet. As for the rest of you"—they snapped to attention—"get this place cleaned up. I want an inventory of guns and supplies in my hand in an hour. And somebody put that dynamite somewhere safe."
