*Three weeks later*
Louis hasn't been at school.
The weeks dragged by, I always watched the door during first hoping that he would come in late. I called him, it always rang to voice mail. I texted him, he never replied. Is he hurt? Did I do something? He wouldn't leave over something I did, right?
"Of course not." Cassidy said when I asked her this one day after school. "But honestly why do you care? You barely even knew him and you seemed terrified of him." She shut her locker.
"I don't know."
"Aw, is little Emma falling in love?" She said using a baby voice. I glared at her.
"No. I barely knew him, plus he creeped me out."
"Then stop worrying about him. Maybe he had to go out of town. It's not like you guys were a couple or anything, he doesn't have to tell you."
"Gee, thanks."
She sighed. "I'm sorry Em but-" Her phone rang. "Hey babe. Oh no i've got time I was just leaving with Em. Oh? No I'm sure she'd like to come." I shook my head at her, she better not be dragging me along with her. I don't want to be a third wheel. "See you later. Love you too." She clicked end.
"Aw you guys are at the "I love you" stage." I rolled my eyes.
"Yes we are Em." She didn't see me roll my eyes or seem to hear my sarcastic tone. She looped her arm through mine.
"You have plans for saturday instead of eating ice cream and watching drama t.v." She said as we walked to the parking lot.
"I don't want to go."
"Why not?"
"Well because I really don't want to watch you guys make out in a corner."
"Don't watch then." She smiled. "No, we won't do that." I shook my head. "You're coming and that's final." She let go of my arm when we got to the car.
"Over my dead body," I muttered.
"What was that?"
"Nothing." I smiled at her and opened the door to the car and got in, looking at my phone. Nothing. With a sigh I placed it in the cup holder next to me and stared out the window.
--
"No you hang up. No you. Babe, you. I love you too. No! You. Yes, hang up-" I snatched the phone from Cassidys hand.
"Yes, Niall? Hi. I'm going to hang up for my friend here. Kay? Kay. Love to all, hugs and kisses and what not. Kay, good night now." I hung up and handed the phone back to a now jaw opened Cassidy.
"What? You know how impatient I am with all that lovey dovey stuff." She shook her head at me.
"I'm debating wheather to laugh or yell at you."
"You love me too much to do that." She laughed and plopped down on the sofa next to me. I pushed play on the remote, watching the opening credits for pitch perfect roll on.
"Again?" She asked as it started.
"Yes again. Nothing comes between me and my baby." I picked up the case.
"Not even Louis?"
"Not even him." I could care less about him. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself to get over the fact that he's gone. Plus Cassidy was right, I barely knew him. It's not like I knew him that well, I didn't even know his favorite color.
I sighed, biting my lip. There's no way I fell for a guy I basically only knew, knew for a total of 48 hours. Right?
