Khushi's POV

In Agarwaal office

I walk in the office with Mr. Agarwaal.

"Jai bhaiya ka cabin kaha pe hain?"I ask

(Where is Jai bhaiya's cabin?)

"Why do you need to go to his cabin? You're also my PA"He replies back

"Lekin main pehele Jai bhaiya ki PA hoon aur phir aapki"

(But I am Jai bhaiya's PA first, then yours)

"Fine, but be there in my cabin exactly at 1 pm"He grumbles out

I make my way to Jai Bhaiya's cabin. When I reach, I knock and wait for an answer.

I go in after hearing a faint 'come in'

Jai bhaiya looks up and says "Hi, how are you feeling now"

"I'm fine. Thank you for calling Kabir sir"

"No Problem. Want to talk about it?"

"No thank you but I do have a few questions that need answering"

"Fire away"

"Tell me about what happened with the Saxena's"

"Papa and Rajat Saxena used to be close friends and had a partnership in the mafia but he didn't agree with Papa wanting to stop dealing with drugs. So Mr. Saxena started stealing money from us and started laundering it. Papa found out and it got messy."

"Ok so, I read that you guys have been attacked several times by the Saxena's. Did the other mafias know about your rivalry?"

"Yes, it's common knowledge in the underworld"

"Do you have anyone in mind that could have a burning hatred against you guys?"

"We have a lot of enemies, Khushi, but none of them have ever threatened the family."

"Okay. Now can you tell me about what happened between Tanya and Mr. Agarwaal?"

"I don't think it's my place to tell"

"I'm asking you so I have a different perspective on the situation"

"I can only give you some details because I really don't think I should be the one telling you about their relationship"

"Okay. I can respect that"

"Arjun and Tanya began dating in their last year of college. Arjun seemed happy for a while but Tanya started to act weird. Our family loved her but we all sensed something off about her. Especially, after the gala"

"The gala that's hosted every year?"

"Yes"

"The saxena's were there and it seemed like they knew something that we didn't. Anything else you'll have to ask Arjun"

"Ok thank you. Do you have any work for me?"

"I've emailed it to you and I think Arjun did as well. Are you sure you can help us both and continue the investigation?"

"Yeah I'm sure. Please don't worry about me. I'll tell you if I feel like I can't do it"

"Good or else main maa ko bataunga phir vo kabhi ghar se bhar nahi nikalne dengee."

(I'll tell maa then she won't let you step out of the house)

I stare at him in horror and he just laughs at my face.

"Main aapka koi kaam nahi karungi, sab khud kar lena agar aapne maa ko bataya toh"

(I will not do any of your work, do it yourself if you tell maa)

"You do realise your paycheck is in our hands right?"

"You do anything to my paycheck and i'll tell Zoya bhabi that you went for drinks and lied to her about it"

"I won't do anything to your paycheck" Jai bhaiya says immediately after hearing Zoya bhabi's name.

I laugh and walk out of his cabin. Looking at the clock I realise that I have about 3 hours before I meet Mr. Agarwaal.

But first I go to the break room and get a cup of coffee. Surviving the day just on caffeine is my daily motto.

I go back and start working. Patna nahi kya samjh kar maine bola tha ki main ye sara kaam kar sakti hoon.

(I don't know what I was thinking when I said I can do all this work)

Jai bhaiya didn't give me a lot of work but Mr. Agarwaal on the other hand gave me piles and piles of work

Kuch kaam nahi karte kya yeh

(does he not do any work)

Sighing I start the work and drink my coffee.

I quickly read the email about what I'm meant to do and get on with it.

2.5 hours later

I finally completed half of the work. Yawning, I get up and start to make my way to Mr. Agarwaal's cabin.

I'm walking in a daze still thinking about the Saxena's. Their rivalry with the Agarwaals is so well known that anyone could use it to their advantage but the Saxena's have a history with sending anonymous threats.

I'm so deep in thought that I bump into someone dropping both mine and their files.

"I'm so sorry" We both started to say at the same time but then I looked up. Guess who it was?

Yep it was the one and only Shruti.

If this was us 3 years ago we would have been laughing and now we're just staring at each other like strangers.
