After many hours of work, you felt ravenous and decided to take a late lunch. It was nearly two o'clock in the afternoon, so you made your way to the break room and grabbed a yogurt and some pretzels and filled up your water bottle. The day had seemed very nice outside. It was early autumn, the trees were changing and the temperature was perfect. You started to make your way to a small courtyard outside the main doors to the precinct when you heard a voice that made your skin crawl as you turned the corner.

"Y/N! How is the hottest lab tech in town doin' today?" Justin said, a sleazy smile plastered on his face. He was a tall man, well built, with light brown hair. He wore a blue janitor's jumpsuit and clunky leather boots. He had a cloth and some cleaning solution in his hands and was standing in the middle of the hallway, blocking you from getting through. You didn't want to react, you knew he liked the attention, so you just smiled politely and attempted to get past him to get to the lobby. As you got closer, something felt off. He was smiling so disgustingly at you, but you were determined to get to the lobby. He moved slightly to the right, giving enough clearance on the left for you to pass, but as you were passing, you felt his hand grab your butt and squeeze.

"Wow, very nice techie," he said, grabbing your wrist and pulling you close to him. You tried to pull your wrist away, but he was stronger than you thought, and you had been caught off guard.

"Let go of me!" you yelled, stomping on his foot and smacking his face with your free hand. His hand fell from your wrist, and you stepped away quickly. "Don't you ever touch me again. I will be filing a complaint with your supervisor! If you ever come near me again, I will hurt you and my husband will get involved," you spat, changing direction to go to Human Resources (HR) to file the complaint right away.

"Listen, you little prude, I was just playing around. We don't need to go getting anyone else involved. I didn't even know you were married," he said. You held up your left hand and pointed to the rings on it. "Yeah, well, I never look at your left hand, there's so much more to see," he said, a sinister grin creeping onto his face once again. "Trust me, doll, you don't want to get anyone else involved, I've got friends in dark places, if you get my drift..." he said, letting the thought hang in the air. It didn't matter who his friends were, you knew filing a complaint was the right thing to do and you weren't about to let this sleaze bag get away with harassing women. You turned and walked in the direction of HR, not turning around as you heard him continue with his job, chuckling lightly. As you got on the elevator to go up two floors, you thought about what you were going to have to say to Peter. He was going to be furious. Furious with Justin for taking advantage of you, and possibly angry with you for letting it go on so long without telling him. Justin had been cat calling you and saying inappropriate things for weeks now, but today was the first time he had ever laid a hand on you. It hadn't been your fault, but for some reason you felt guilty. Had you given Justin mixed signals because you didn't report him before? Had he somehow thought that you wanted his attention? Were your clothes immodest? Did you conduct yourself in a way that led him to believe his touch would be appropriate? Guilt wrapped around your chest tightly and settled in your stomach as the elevator opened and you walked into HR. You knew a man who worked there, Dan Guilford, so you walked to his office. Dr. Stafford spoke highly of Mr. Guilford, so you thought he would be a safe bet for handling this situation. You poked your head inside the door to his office but found it empty.

"Hmm, should I leave a note? Or write an e-mail maybe? I want to be sure that Mr. Guilford sees it sometime today. This must be taken care of quickly," You thought as you stood outside Mr. Guilford's office.

"Excuse me, can I help you?" a feminine voice spoke from behind. You had never seen this woman at the precinct before, but you were very rarely on this side of the building. You spent the majority of your time in the lab or the morgue, on the other end of the building and on the main floor, so it was certainly possible that you didn't know everyone in HR. Surely it was better to get this taken care of now, rather than send an e-mail and hope Mr. Guilford would receive it. Maybe he was out today.
