The sound of a fist pounding on the door woke both you and Peter.

"NYPD, open up!" yelled a voice behind the door. Peter quickly bolted out of bed, quickly making himself presentable, you right behind him.

"Coming!" he said, looking around the room to be sure his Spider-Man stuff was hidden well. It was all in his backpack, sitting against the wall in the corner of the room. Peter opened the door to see Detective Lewis and a handful of officers and forensic technicians. Dr. Stafford was standing in the back of the group.

"Can I help you?" asked Peter, unsure why the detective was at your apartment. The detective knew Spider-Man well but had never formally met Peter Parker. He needed to act as if Detective Lewis was not a familiar face.

"Hello, I'm looking for Y/N Parker," Detective Lewis said, pushing his way past Peter and entering the apartment with authority.

"Hi, Detective Lewis," you said kindly, a smile on your face until you saw his. His face was serious and solemn. "What's wrong?" you asked, suddenly feeling very afraid.

"Justin Beaumont was found dead this morning, a few blocks from here. We got an anonymous tip this morning that he assaulted you yesterday at work and again last night. Your fingerprints were found on the body, as well as your DNA under his fingernails. We have a warrant to search the apartment. I need to ask you some questions," the detective gestured to the small table and chairs and waited for you to sit. You looked around, afraid that the officers would find Peter's suit. Dr. Stafford entered the apartment and quietly made his way over to the backpack. He picked it up, along with an assortment of random items that he would take to the lab to test. He knew that Peter's suit was in the bag and would get it back to him when the time was right. You quickly sat down, Peter stood behind you, and Detective Lewis sat across the table.

"I need to know what you were doing between the hours of 11 pm and 1 am last night," Detective Lewis stated and waited for an answer, looking to Peter first.

"I was near the Empire State Building helping Spider-Man with something. He can vouch for me," Peter stated. Then the detective looked at you.

"I was here, at home," you replied. Why did the detective need to know where you and Peter were? "Oh! I almost forgot, I went down to the corner store for some chocolate, here, I have the receipt." You got up and went to your purse. You pulled out the receipt and handed it to the detective. He studied it for a minute then looked up.

"Y/N, this is for the corner store a few blocks from here. It's time stamped at 12:17 am. Justin was murdered around that time only a block from there. You've just put yourself at the crime scene. You were gone the entire time; you have no idea of Y/N's whereabouts or activities?" He asked Peter, begging him to give you an alibi.

"I know she went to get the candy; I even ate some of it when I got home, but I was gone until about 1:30 am. But she would never hurt anyone, even though Justin assaulted her. Not to mention, she was pretty shaken up from the assault," Peter told the detective.

"Sir, you'd better see this," an officer said to Detective Lewis. "We've found blood on this towel in the hamper as well as on the bottom of her tennis shoes. It matches the victim's blood type." The detective looked at you sadly. He rose slowly and took a deep breath, then approached.

"Y/N Parker, you are under arrest for the murder of Justin Beaumont. You have the right to remain silent..." he continued reading you your rights, but you didn't listen. You looked at Peter, panic in your eyes. What was happening? You felt the cold touch of metal on your wrists as Detective Lewis handcuffed you. He led you out the door, down the hall, through the lobby, and into a waiting police car.

"It's okay, it's okay, we'll figure this out. I love you, it's okay," Peter said as the detective slammed the door closed and began to drive away. You sat silently in the back of the car, tears pricking your eyes as you were taken to the precinct for interrogation.
