"Is this appropriate? And what am I supposed to do with my hair? Who in my family has hair like this? No one and it is completely unfair," I sighed and threw myself on my bad.
Nicco asked me if I wanted to hang out today. Of course, I couldn't decline the offer and I have no idea where we're going. I've been at the outfit stage for at least two hours now if not more, and Lori is no help at all today.
"I've told you about five damn times, I am way too sick for this," an unexpected sneeze interrupted her little speech, "The guys are downstairs, you should ask them."
"Sure I'll casually ask Pedri what to wear on my kind of a date with Nicco. Is this cold ruining your brain? Or the bleach? I want to be sure if the damage is permanent,"
Lori pouted her lip. "Now you're just being rude. The dress code is comfy and casual, what is so hard bout that?"
A groan escaped my mouth, I am here on the edge of a mental breakdown, and here is Dolores trying to be smart while sick. A match made by someone blackout drunk if you ask me. I never stressed that much about clothes, but I don't want to look like I didn't even try.
"Yes, but is it comfy and casual sweats, leggings, or jeans?" If I had any say on this date, we would probably have another movie night or go to McDonald's.
"As my mom used to say, you should wear a swimsuit,"
"Your moms' opinion is irrelevant here, she just never learned how to use sarcasm correctly," I pulled myself up and looked at my options once more.
"No Sonia slander here, she could humble you,"
"Oh please, it's not like you two have a perfect relationship," Lori rolled her eyes, "You always dread hanging out with her. When was even the last time you saw her?"
"Probably when you dragged Gavi by his hair," that will be the highlight of my life, for sure. Just getting a flashback to that gives me serotonin. The same feeling as watching pimple popping videos, helps me fall asleep faster. Why would I need the fake scenarios when I have that moment to remember.
"Makes sense, you weren't there to stop me,"
After almost having a mental breakdown because of clothes, I was done and just grabbed the first pair of jeans and an Adidas hoodie.
"Wear a t-shirt under it just in case,"
"Thanks for the advice mom," soon after I said that a pillow hit my head. "Where do you think we're going?"
"Does it look like I go on dates all the time? Probably dinner and something after that, bowling maybe?" Dolores shrugged and blew her nose out, who gets when no one else is sick?
"Bowling? Have you ever seen just two people bowling? It's always three or more you idiot,"
"What are you gonna do with your hair?" She just knew what to bring up at the right time, and just after I calmed down a little. Should probably put her on sale on Amazon or Wish, either works.
"Why did you have to bring that one up? I'm not that far into getting ready,"
"You should be," she mumbled, throwing a blanket over herself, half asleep in a few seconds. There could literally be a zombie apocalypse and she would sleep through it all.
After looking somewhat decent I mumbled a quick goodbye to now fully asleep Lori and went downstairs. The boys shouting could be heard almost all over the house, and it was most definitely because of Fifa.
I almost made it to the front door. Almost. Sometimes I like to think I'm cursed, because if I weren't then Gavira wouldn't be in front of me right now.
"Where are you going? And without Dolores?" A little smirk played on his lips, and I had to fight the urge to just wipe it off of his face. But I made a promise to myself not to get into physical fights with him, one was enough. For now.
"What is this? 20 questions?" I said while putting my shoes on, I really didn't have time for him and his little games. I just wanted to get out of the house as soon as possible and see Nicco.
"If you must know I'm going on a date, that word probably isn't known in your vocabulary," I commented and my phone went off at the perfect time. "And that is my cue."
"Princess, I can assure you that word is in my vocabulary," was the last thing I heard from Gavi before I left the house. Gavira always found the perfect time to get on my nerves, just his presence alone makes me crawl into a hole and die.
It wouldn't be that bad, but with him being Pedris' best friend and him always hanging here, I'm bound to see him more than I'd like. Sadly. I saw Nicco's car and quickly made my way into the passenger seat.
"Hey, what put you in a bad mood?" How does he know now? I knew I shouldn't have slammed the door that much.
"The most obvious one, Gavira," I huffed and looked at him. Black jeans and a grey sweater, glad we're almost matching and that I didn't overdress.
"What did he do this time? Chew too loudly?" He laughed a little, and I gave him a death glare.
"He did that yesterday, today he was interviewing me on where I'm going. I can't have one day of peace with him in the house. It's either him breathing too loudly or just asking too many questions. Anyway, enough about him. Where are we going?" I asked and looked outside the window.
"Bowling," he said, making the turn and soon we were parked in front of the bowling alley.
"Have you ever seen two people bowling? Because that just screams lunatic," I looked at him as if he just fell from the moon.
"It's not gonna be that bad," he smiled, showing his teeth. "Someone told me you like to bowl so here we are."
"It was Dolores, right? Because that idiot told me but I didn't take her seriously," I replied, getting out of the car. "Her brain is currently in sick mode, which is worse than the bleach mode."
"Are you two always that mean to each other?" Nicco gave me a weird look, which I just blew off.
"It's all said with love," I shot back as we made our way into the building.
Thankfully it wasn't that crowded, so we didn't look like two idiots and I could win in peace. Nicco was a few points behind me, and I am determined to win more than ever now. He took the ball and made his way to the alley and threw the ball.
"Yes!" I jumped out of my seat. He missed three, now he just needs to miss again. "Dolores told you I'm good."
"Yeah, I gathered that," he replied and threw the next ball. I watched as it went closer to the edge and soon it was in the gutter. In a few seconds, I was up and celebrating my victory.
"Come here," I said and pulled him into a hug, "I'm better than you."
"My ego is wounded," he whispered into my ear and hugged me tighter.
"It should be, after all, I am better," I laughed and pulled out of the hug. "Do you want something sweet to make you feel better?"
"Yes," he said and pulled me back closer to him, our faces inches apart. I could feel his hot breath on my face, our noses touching now. I had enough of the teasing and just closed the gap between us, our lips finally meeting.
And it was one of the best kisses I've had in a while.
