Today is Gavira's birthday, which also means he is having his birthday party here at our house. Because of that Pedro is in full preparations with his girl by his side, the DJ table was ready, the fridge is full of different kinds of alcohol. You could find everything and anything at the house tonight.
I intended to avoid the party at all cost, just hide in my room and read a new book, just anything. I just started reading a new book, I'm not just gonna leave it at the cliffhanger, it would be torture. My phone made a noise and I checked what it was, it was Dolores letting me know she will be here soon so we can drink together.
A sigh left my mouth, my plan had just been ruined. The good thing is I can get drunk for free, and in my house so I don't have to go anywhere. Just upstairs to my room.
"Hola chica, you ready to party?" Dolores exclaimed as she entered my room. Typical Dolores behaviour, not even knocking on the door. Pedri used to be the same when we were little but he somehow got trained to knock, like a puppy to bring a ball back.
"If we can stay as far away as possible from the main event and birthday girl," I replied looking at her through my mirror, where I was applying some light makeup. Mostly to hide the dark circles under my eyes, those could be sponsored by Gucci at this point.
Why couldn't he celebrate his birthday somewhere else? He could still invite all the same people he did, just to a different location. Even I could prepare his birthday party, preferably on the other side of the world, he would still have one with his close friends and family. Which would also lead to my better mood.
I call this a win-win situation.
"Ferran is going to be here," she mumbled under her breath and threw herself on the bed. My head turned around so fast I could practically feel the world spinning around me but Ferran being here tonight? A dream come true.
"I think you have some drool around your mouth," Lori said, her fingers showing around her mouth.
"How funny, you know I just observe," I defended myself and went back to my makeup. I could feel Dolores looking at my outfit which consisted of a sparkly top and high-waisted shorts, something simple and safe. Her outfit on the other hand looks like she is trying to find a boyfriend and not attending a birthday party.
The black dress hugged her body like a glove, but the best part of the dress in her opinion? The small cut that went down in the front middle with a few strings from one side to the other. Her mother never liked that dress but Dolores just kept wearing it to some family gatherings to annoy her. It was priceless seeing the fiasco from the front row.
"Sure you do," she started laughing, "And in a few years I'll marry Neymar Jr, sure thing."
"You never know,"
"That's just fantasizing about my alternative universe," she replied, "Anyways what are you drinking tonight? I'm thinking it's tequila kind of night."
"You and your tequila," I said standing up, "Maybe vodka? I don't have any ideas. I'll either mix or stay on the same thing for the rest of the night."
Soon we decided to go downstairs to see who was already here, music was blaring from the speakers, and balloons covering the ceiling. Some of his teammates were already here, such as Ferran, Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Alejandro, and Raphinha.
Dolores already made her way to prepare the table for tequila shots. I swear to god, tequila will be the death of her but she somehow likes it, clean with just salt and lemon. She convinced me to do one shot a few months ago and it was the first and last time I drank tequila.
I grabbed a bottle of vodka and a few energy drinks, went to the backyard, and sat on the chair by the pool. I figured it would be more depressing if I just locked myself into my room, this way no one can say I wasn't here.
After an hour and a half, I could hear someone coming to where I was sitting, turning my head around I saw my favourite brother. I gave him a small smile and he returned one to me.
"What are you doing out here alone?" Pedri asked and sat down next to me, looking at the pool like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
"Dolores is drinking tequila and I don't like tequila and I don't like Gavira," I started taking a deep breath. "But I also don't wanna be locked up in my room, now I can at least get some fresh air and relax. And also drink vodka in peace."
I raised the bottle of vodka, which was still half full due to me taking my time with it. Pedri just laughed and shook his head.
"Ay, hermanita,"
"What?" I looked at him confused.
"Nothing, well have fun with your peace and quiet," he said, standing up. "I have to go check up on my friends and as you prefer, my girlfriend."
"How funny," I muttered under my breath, Pedri left and I was alone again sipping on my energy vodka. My head was getting lighter, everything was getting funnier by the second and I wished it could always be like that.
"Hey there little López," I heard a voice say. Little López, what am I? Ten?
"Hey there grandpa," I replied after realising it was Ferran.
"Is that how you talk to older people?" He replied, putting a hand over his chest where his heart is. Talk about being dramatic.
"Wouldn't know, I tend to avoid older people,"
"Kinda rude, don't you think?"
"Shouldn't you be giving all your attention to the birthday boy?"
"Oh, he is out of control," he answered, "Got out as fast as I could."
"That is not nice, he's your friend,"
"Says the girl who is mean to my said friend,"
"I've got my reasons,"
"Like what?"
"It's a secret,"
"Screw you,"
"Likewise,"
"Anyways little López, see you around," he replied and walked away, probably inside.
Time went by and suddenly it was three in the morning, and I decided to go inside to check on the party. Everyone was gone, Dolores and Pedri were splattered around the couch sleeping soundly with confettis all over them. Then I heard the most inhumane sound ever and turned in its direction, of course, it was Gavira leaning over the kitchen sink, taking deep breaths.
"What the hell Gavira, you are cleaning this in the morning," I said looking in the sink and my stomach turned around in a hundred different directions. Seeing vomit wasn't one of my strongest points. I opened the tap and let the water run over his vomit a little.
"Come on Gavira," I said taking his arm over my shoulders to give him some support, what did I do to deserve this? I avoided this party as a plague and still, I have to take care of the birthday girl.
"Are you going to throw up again? Do you need to go to the bathroom?" I asked, looking at him.
"Yes," he croaked out, and we made our way to the bathroom. As he was lurching over the toilet, I decided to leave the bathroom because I could not listen to someone throw up.
After he was definitely finished, I helped him up again and decided to take him to the room closest to the bathroom. Which just happened to be my room, great. I laid him down on the bed, and saw some vomit on his shirt, and decided to take it off. For a second I got distracted by his toned chest, but quickly shook off that thought out.
I rolled him on his side and put some pillows behind his back. In case he wants to roll over, I don't want him to choke on his own vomit if anything would even come out at this point. And also as a precaution, put a bucket next to the bed.
After this, all I could see was a bed, and went to Loris's room to sleep in there. As mine was taken by the birthday girl.
