synopsis: it's time to confront the monkey king on his odd behavior.

The cool water of the body of water drenched your pants, but the coolness of the water ironically kept your head clear on the current mission at hand.

Finding out that the Monkey king, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven himself, had been courting you this entire time made you feel an arrange of complex emotions. On one hand, you were flattered, on the other, you were downright confused.

"Let's get this over with," You sighed and approached the waterfall. You hopped across the many stones that laid out a path to the waterfall. When you reached the final one you were face to face with the curtain of water. Your reflection showed how nervous you were, from your sweaty brow to your frowning lips. As you reached out for the water, you hesitated for a second.

"Maybe I could do this tomorrow, yeah! I don't even know if Monkey King is even home-" You pivoted on your heel and prepared to head home, but the shine of a golden light stopped you in your tracks as you looked over your shoulder to see the large waterfall parting. You lowered your gaze from the magnificent sight to see the devil himself standing at the entrance.

"[Y/n]? [Y/n]!" Wukong rubbed his eyes a few times before shooting forward and crashing into you. You couldn't support the two of you and teetered off of the edge of the rock with a shriek.

"Aww," You groaned as you lifted yourself from the water.

"Sorry, sometimes I forget how much strength I have," Monkey King apologized as he stood up and offered a hand to you. You took it, and with the help of the monkey, pulled yourself out of the water. You noticed he didn't let go of your hand even after you were standing.

"Why don't you come inside? I have fresh clothes for ya?" The king offered.

"Uh, ok," You accepted and allowed him to guide you through the cave behind the waterfall. The two of you walked in silence the entire trip to his house. When the two of you finally arrived at the house, you were invited inside and took a seat on the couch. You never knew how small his actual home was, well, the only time you ever visited him was at his temple.

"Sooo, is there any reason why you decided to pop by? Heh, I didn't even need to order any noodles this time!" Monkey King asked.

"Just wanted to talk, Monkey King," Your eyes shifted to the side for a second. "I hope I'm not bothering you or anything."

"Oh, you're fineeee and just call me Wukong," The king winked at you before he began scourging around for some clothes, you watched as he opened a crate and begin throwing articles of clothing and other things behind him.
