I stumble forward, taken by surprise at the impact on the back of my head. Rubbing the spot where I was hit, I turn around to see Jaemin standing there with a mischievous grin on his face."Jaemin? What the heck was that for?" I exclaim, a mix of annoyance and amusement in my voice.
He chuckles, holding up a small ball in his hand. "Sorry, Y/n. I couldn't resist. I've been trying to get your attention for a while now."
I roll my eyes, playfully swatting his arm. "You could have just called my name, you know. No need to resort to throwing things at me."
Jaemin shrugs, his grin still intact. "Where's the fun in that? Anyway, how have you been?"
I let out a sigh, feeling a bit relieved to see a familiar face. "I've been alright, I guess. Just had a weird encounter earlier, but nothing too out of the ordinary."
Jaemin raises an eyebrow, curiosity evident in his eyes. "A weird encounter? Do tell."
I briefly recount the events at the coffee shop, including the tense interaction with Sana and the unexpected date with Nayeon.
"Wow, sounds eventful," Jaemin comments, scratching his head. "So, how was the date? Did sparks fly?"
I shake my head, a smirk playing on my lips. "Nah, it was just for fun. I'm not really into all that lovey-dovey stuff."
Jaemin chuckles. "Yeah, I know you too well, Y/n. But hey, you never know what might happen. Sometimes things surprise you."
I give him a playful shove. "Oh, stop being all sentimental. So, what brings you here anyway? Missed me that much?"
Jaemin grins, pretending to be offended. "Of course I missed you, but actually, I was just passing by and thought I'd say hi. It's been a while since we caught up."
"Well, I'm glad you did," I say sincerely, feeling a warmth in my heart at seeing my childhood friend. "Let's go grab some ice cream, my treat!"
Jaemin's eyes light up at the mention of ice cream. "You had me at 'ice.' Lead the way!"
We walk into a charming ice cream parlor with a cozy atmosphere. The sound of laughter and the sweet aroma of freshly made waffle cones fill the air. As we approach the counter, I can't help but notice a beautiful girl seated near the corner, playing a captivating melody on a grand piano.
Mesmerized by her skillful fingers gracefully dancing across the keys, I find myself entranced. Her music seems to speak to my soul, evoking emotions I didn't even know existed. It's as if every note she plays resonates with a part of me.
Jaemin nudges me, breaking me out of my reverie. "Hey, Y/n, you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost."
I shake my head, snapping back to reality. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just lost in the music, I guess."
The girl finishes her set, receiving applause from the small crowd that had gathered around her. As she stands up and takes a bow, I can't help but be drawn to her. There's an aura of warmth and talent surrounding her.
After a moment of hesitation, I make a decision. I turn to Jaemin with determination in my eyes. "Hey, Jaemin, I'm going to go talk to her. I want to become friends with her."
Jaemin looks surprised but supportive. "Go for it, Y/n. You never know where a new connection might lead."
I walk over to the girl, who is now gently closing the piano lid. Nervously, I clear my throat to catch her attention. "Hi, I couldn't help but be captivated by your performance. You have an incredible talent."
She smiles, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thank you so much. Music is my passion, and it's always a joy to share it with others. I'm Dahyun, by the way."
"I'm Y/n," I reply, trying to hide the fluttering feeling in my chest. "Would you mind if I joined you for a moment? I'd love to get to know you better."
Dahyun's smile widens, and she gestures to the empty seat next to her. "Please, have a seat. I'd be happy to chat."
As our conversation flows effortlessly, I can't help but be captivated by Dahyun's presence. Her warm smile and genuine interest in our conversation make me feel at ease. The more I learn about her, the more intrigued I become.
In a moment of boldness, I gather the courage to make a request. "Dahyun, your talent deserves to be shared with more people. Would you consider performing at my coffee shop? I think our customers would love to hear your music."
Dahyun's eyes widen with surprise, but a glimmer of excitement shines through. "Perform at your coffee shop? That sounds amazing, Y/n! I'd be honored. I've always wanted to share my music in a cozy setting like that."
